Haven't you been listening to the whole "Jo the Plumber" thing?  Obama flat out told him that he needs to make sure that everyone behind Joe the plumber can be as sucessful has he is.  I don't think Obama has ever denied that his intension is to redistribute wealth from the bottom up. 

If you are taking the middle of the road then McCain should be your choice dude.  He has a 30 year political history of taking the middle of the road.  That's why they call him a maverick.  If you remove the faces of the two guys running for office and study the policies there is only one of them that is close middle of the road and it isn't the one Senator Obama supports.


As far as the whole $250k thing,  If you have listened to Obama's speeches over the past week that 250k dropped to 200k and then 100k just the other day.  As a Senator he and Senator Biden voted to raise taxes on households makeing over 40k.  Obama knows that it is economically impossible to introduce his trillion dollars of increased spending by only taxing housholds making over 250k.

Ok, economics lession 101.   Democrats think the way to build the economy is from the bottom up.  In other words, distribute the money to the poor and they will spend it thus helping the economy.   Republicans think the way to build the economy is to give tax breaks to the big corporations.  They will in turn invest the money in businesses that produce jobs.  The employees get paid and company profits get re-invested in more businesses. 

Earth to the Democrats.  We tried a redistribution of wealth program 40 years ago during the Lyndon Johnson Administration.  It was called Welfare.   Sure it helped the poor but it also created a whole new class of people in society that simpley didn't want to work.  They learned to live off of what the gov't gave them.  Audits under the Clinton administration discovered that there were generations of families living this way. That's why Congress enacted welfare reform in the 90's.  This entitlement society was put front and center again when Hurrican Katrina hit New Orleans.  There were a million people who where unable to help themselves or even leave the city beacause they had not way to do it without the gov't help.  Starting this whole process over again won't work. 


Also, Its no secret that Obama wants to heavily tax the corporations and rich to fund his policies.  The only flaw in that thought is that if he tries this those corporations and rich people will simply invest their money and move their money to another country where he can't get at it.  All that does is hurt the economy.  Then its up to the middle class the pay for it.  This is why socialism is flawed by design.  It eliminates the middle class and keeps the rich elites rich and does not allow the poor to get rich because the more you make, the more they take.

Currently, 40% of americans don't pay any taxes because they don't make enough money and the richest 2% of the population pay 90% of the taxes.  Try and take more of their money and they may just decide to go elsware with it to a country that would be more than happy for them to spend their money to help their economy.

Oh, one more thing.  Obama is keeping secret his sources for over 200 million in campaign contributions.  That in itself seems shady to me.

Don't fully agree with the republican or democrat ideals but the republican way hasn't exactly done great things for us lately..

Keep in mind my money says that richest part you are talking about knows the loopholes and write offs to make it so they don't pay taxes..

Even I with a little business can show zero income and pay no taxes with enough write offs..

This "change" scares the out of me, but hey what are we to do? The best we can do is just wait and see what happens - IF he gets voted in.  I can totally see an "I told you so" era when hits the fan.... who knows maybe I'm just a worry wort.  We'll see in the next few years (that is if the votes shift his direction).

Did you try the link in my earlier post? It leads to a radio interview with Obama...he laments that the courts haven't done enough to redistribute wealth in America, his own words...not some viral e-mail.

The man is, with out a doubt, a socialist (which we know is the same ideological tree that gives the world  Communism). You may call him a Progressive Socialist or a Democratic Socialist...nonetheless, a Socialist he is.

As far as redistributing the wealth, NOTHING...in my life time has done more harm to the lower economic strata than...redistributing the wealth through our welfare system. Socialism, by it's very nature, creates dependence and dependents...of the state. Sapping the entrepreneurial spirit, initiative and incentive for man to improve his lot in life, replacing it with groveling at the feet of the master. There can be no argument that the welfare system in this country has replaced literal slavery with economic slavery...and the leaders of the Democrat party are the new house masters, with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton as the new house boys.

Earlier you posted that "I worked my butt off to become the licensed engineer that I am - nobody handed it to me.."...why? Did you try to better your position to be equal? Did you try to be in a position to provide for your family, in the present or the future. If...if, everyone is equal...what is there to aspire to? Why would you do anything other than lounge on the sofa...if all there was to aim for was another bowl of gruel? Man is competitive, we want to excel.

The recent Wall St. "Bail out" was just the first balloon payment that has come to due on our creep toward socialism...giving people who can't afford something has to be paid for somehow...by the reasonable and much over taxed citizen. Just wait until we get the bill for pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan (they're already talking about a 25% cut in the military) and the bill for Socialized Healthcare.

what im worried about greater than what obama would jack up is the fact there are a couple justices basically waiting for Bush to be out to retire cause they know Bush would put a couple good republicans in there in place.. if obama gets stuck in there somehow on top of the crap he'll do well end up with a couple liberals extremos for the next thirty years causing a heck of a lot more damage in the long run.
