The following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning's televised "Meet The Press'. and the author is employed by none other than the Washington Post!! Yeah......the Washington Post of New York and Los Angeles Times fame!! Must say that I'm duely impressed..................

From Sunday's Televised "Meet the Press" Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.

Obama Explains National Anthem Stance

Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

At the very least, "Stand and Face It"

Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides", Obama said "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, 'the bombs bursting in air' and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.

"We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails.

Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together, she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine". Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred.

I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly be our next President. I, for one, am speechless.

Yep.....And if the Left wing Liberals get enough Senate seats, 60 then they will be filibuster proof. This means they are free to pass just about any bill they want to and nobody can stop it.

I would expect to have at least the 1st and 2nd amendments to the Constitution changed and probably more. The free speech thing is already written up sitting in Congress waiting for the next set of leaders. Its called the "fairness doctrine". It also wouldn't surprise me a bit to see the two term presidential limit to be repealed.

Seriously, try to find the audio of two (I think) interviews from 2001 Laura Ingraham was playing them yesterday...what he thinks of the Constitution and what he hopes to do with activist judges is terrifying.

Well if those things were to come true, to the joy of Islam I see a civil war in our future. For our leader to disrespect our flag only sends a message that we are in decline and will soon not be the power we currently are, to change or even consider to change our national anthem does the same. To disarm us to the levels that would please Islam?! Please, have you seen most of Islam? Try armed to the teeth, sure they are countries in turmoil but I've watched programs (Somalia) and 10 year old kids are walking around the streets with full auto weapons.

If elected, I see big internal problems within our country. We will be so busy here that the terrorists will have a field day here keeping it going.

Congress can't change the Constitution...it's up to the states.

I think they will try the "Fairness" doctrine, but it won't stand up in court.

While I do believe that his disrespect for our flag is genuine, I wasn't able to find any evidence backing up the article. I looked it up on Snopes and found that it's false...

already voted, McCain, lesser of the two evils and likes the military ALOT more. doesnt want to downsize/cut funding. stays consistant on his views instead of changing it depending on who is around him. i dont trust Obama, he's a smooth talking liar that wants to turn this country into the new soviet union.

I like my guns, I like my rights, I like being responsible for myself and my own well being, and I like a government that knows they work FOR us.

I don't see how anybody who enjoys ANY outdoor activities could possibly see to vote for Obama. Everybody is free to their own opinion, but don't be idiotic enough to vote in a candidate who feels you shouldn't have one! Hopefully none of us are mindless sheep who want others to take care of everything for us...

What do you mean...he's "into nukes and war"? Are you referring to his support for the increase in atomic energy in America?

I know a ton of military men and women...none of them are "into" war, they just know that sometimes it's a necessity.

So lets spread the wealth and here's the latest method of doing this, raise the Federal minimum wage $4.00 to around $9.50. Well I'm sorry that won't do anything but chase most big business outside of the country and destroy most small business owners causing mass layoffs and closings since they won't be able to afford to pay that price. Those that survive will cut cost by cutting employee's and raise their prices. Yeah great idea!

99% of the voting public doesn't deserve the privelage of voting, and a big part of that is because they're too easily swayed due to ignorance and fear. Our economic issues aren't solely the fault of gw like the liberal media wants you to believe either, and thinking a president is going to step in, wave a magic wand and make everything better is foolish. They're not going to sway far from their past actions, and falling for any of the buzzwords like "change", or any of their promises is just plain dumb.

It's very easy to look into his history, and it's tainted. Yes, I lean to the right, but I wasn't terribly excited about any of the replublican candidates either. I'm glad hitlery got knocked out, but Obama's not much better either.

I totally agree, a peek into a persons past is a good look into what they may bring to the table. I'm sorry but the church that he attended up and until it was revealed by Clinton is a direct reflection of the man. If I were to attend that church and heard what was being preached to the parishioners I would have walked out and never returned. The fact that he remained a member until it became a hot issue says to me he thinks on the same lines as the church, why else would you continue to attend.

All you have to do is educate yourself and discover that everything he says he wants to do reflects Marxist philosophies and idealologies. I don't need to prove it to you or anyone else. I don't know where you've been for the last two years but I have been listening....and I've heard enough.

I would like to also add that the single largest recipient of campaign contributions from environmental groups like the Sierra Club is Barack Obama. These are also the same groups that are attempting to close down all of the famous wheeling spots around the country. In essence your are supporting putting a stop to the hobby in which this site and your Off road club, the RCRC is dedicated too.
