I have not said anything in this thread since the start, when someone typed a threat towards a presidential candidate like an idiot. So yes, I did just noticed. There are already ten of this same exact thread, with the same arguments and same responses. Thank God He will probably win tomorrow so we can see the 20+ now my guns are gone and our country is going to crap treads about our new president....

I Voted For Obama Btw

Oh and maybe if he didn't choose Pailin, who i wouldn't even trust to count change, I might, just maybe, would have voted McCain.

Flame away on my unaffiliated butt, cause this whole thread is  :bull crap: and 95% media crap and hearsay

Funny, I didn't think there were that many political threads this year.  :dunno:  A lot of stuff on here may or may not be true, but quite a bit of it is as well.

Redistribution of wealth?  Yeah, Obama said it himself.  Extreme gun control?  Check his history on voting for gun control measures.  Funny how the Democratic party keeps changing the #s on what the level where they're going to give tax breaks is at.  Personally, I think this country is headed toward the crapper if the Dems get their butts in the house and senate seats, and the sheeple of this country elect Obama.  Obama has socialistic ideals, and has long been a proponent of removing rights of the people (1st and 2nd amendment).

I dobut that many people on here will post up that their guns are gone, mainly because I don't think they'll give them up.  Sorry that you feel that way about Palin, I think she's a smart woman and will do very well as she gains experience.

For me, its simple.  I want to be able to say what I want, when I want.  I want to be able to exercise my right to bear arms, and not have to pay exoborate taxes, or get "special" permits, or be told which weapons I can or cannot own.  I want to be able to keep the money I earn in my pocket, and not hand it over to the government to dole out to others less fortunate than me (ie, don't have a job, don't want a job).  I want to be able to enjoy public lands, go wheeling in the national forests, and on BLM land.  I want my children to grow up with the same values this country was based on.

Second Amendment is not going anywhere, neither is the rest of the bill of rights.

I dont make more than 250,000 a year collectively, neither do my parents... So the taxes dont affect me, so i am sorry.

I and my father own our fair share of guns, if someone wants to try and take them. I will apply the make my day law here in Colorado, they trespassed so i shot them...

In times of economic downturn the government should increase spending, its simple Keynesian economics look it up. If that requires more taxes to bring inflation down and recover the housing and stock markets than so be it.

As far as the growing up with the right values...
Seriously, it is all parenting when it comes to that. Most teachers are Democrats, so i guess it is up to you then to prevent them from corrupting your kids with history, math, and sciences. I have grown up in one of the most messed up generations since the 60's hippies and i am pretty leveled headed. Cotoy91, you realize that you'll need to change your sig line if obama wins, right?  It'll need to read "Broke, in College, and only wanting my rig to be finished, which will be in vein since my candidate was elected!"

Also, please don't point the finger of ignorance at others without first knowing what you're talking about!  If you'd researched your candidate at all you'd know he's very much for trying to revoke our 2nd amendment rights.

I'm not going to say you're an idiot for voting for obama.  Again, no need to state the obvious  :gap:  Oh yea, and you've firmly planted yourself in the center of the herd of ignorant sheeple.  Don't come on here and cry and pregnant dog when your local wheeling spots are closed if he gains office

I've said it before in this thread but the biggest Activist group that tries to get trails closed and off roading of all forms stopped is the Sierra Club.   The largest recipient of campaign contributions from the Sierra Club and others like it is none other that Barrack Obama.

Go to this site.  www.opensecrets.org    They simply list scources of campaign contributions and what candidates received them....Except of course the $220 million dollars that Obama refuses to release the source of.

If you think the Constitution will get in the way of Obama then your crazy.   There is already a bill waiting to be introduced when the next president and congress resumes in January called the "Fairness Doctrine"  It will basically limit free speech on radio and tv, which is a direct violation of the 1st Amendment.  It is an attempt to shut down talk radio from people like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc.

The 2nd Amendment is in jeapordy as well.  I live in St. Louis, MO on the MO/IL border so I am quite familier with Obama as a state Senator.  He was a media sweetheart long here long before the rest of the world heard of him.  Illinois already has some of the most strict firearm laws on the books and he has definitely voted to ban ownership altogether more than once.

The 6th amendment is already in question since it is unclear if Obama was actually born in this country.  His uncle claims he was present when Obama was born, In Kenya.   The document released by Obama's handlers supposedly proving is birth in HI has the document numbers ommitted so there is no way to cross reference it with a birth certificate at the hospital.

His $250,000 cutoff for increased taxes has changed to $200,000, then $150,000 and also $100,000.   One thing is clear though.  It is impossible to introduce the trillion dollar increased spending plan by only raising taxes on businesses and housholds making over $250,000.

The current poor state of the economy is what has allowed Obama to be so popular and people to blindly support him without having a clue as to what his plans are.  Everyone is blaming the Bush administration for this and it is carrying over to McCain since they are both rebublicans.  In Actuallity the only thing George Bush should have done differently is communicate to the american people what the liberals in office have caused.

The economic problems are due in large part to two things:
1. The Oil Crisis.   Remember, the Democrats have had complete control of Congress for several years now and have refused to allow any attempts to get oil from anywhere else but our enemies.   Think about it, if we were drilling our own oil do you think we would have went to war in Iraq?

2. The mortgage collapse.  This is a big one and is the complete fault of the liberals, namely Barnie Frank.   He is the head of the financial services commitee in Congress and in charge of monitoring these markets.   Several times over the last few years the president and ironically even John McCain went before congress and told everyone that if something didn't change it was going to be in trouble.  Barnie Frank himself then criticized the republicans for attacking the head of Fannie Mae, Frank Raines saying there was nothing wrong with the market and the attack was politically motivated since Frank Raines was a plitically tied Democrat that worked for the Clinton Administration.  hmmm.  It almost sounds as if this collapse was planned.  Good timing too huh?  The subprime lending crisis is a direct result of the policies of Bill Clinton and Democrats under the guise of affordable housing.  Attorney General under the Clinton Administration Janet Reno threatened lending institutions with legal action if they didn't make these loans to people who couldn't pay them back.  Alan Greenspan warned of the impending disaster in 2005!!!  But the bill that would have given the regulator actual power to enforce regulations(what's the point of a regulator that can't regulate?) was blocked by Democrats.

The trade deficit with China is a third major contributor to our poor economy but I think both parties carry the blame for this one.  Currently there is a 700 billion dollar anual trade deficit with China.  For any of you that doesn't know what that means, we spend a trillion dollars every year buying goods from China and they in turn only buy 300 billion from us.  Trade with China started under the Clinton Administration and got worse under the Bush administration.  The main cause of this is labor costs.  Unless the american worker is willing to work for the same $10.00 per day that the Chinese worker is willing to do the this isn't gonna change any time soon.   We need the govenrment to enact a policy of equal trade with all countries we do business with in this so called Global Economy.  Remember, the United States is one of the only countries that can self support its population.  We grow enough food to feed everyone.  many countrys can't do this yet we still allow them to control trade.

WHEW!!  That was another long one.

A few other thoughts to ponder, this has happened in the past. I'm not going to throw out names but in the history of the modern world there has been times that a country or region has experienced what is currently happening here, the economy is in trouble, people are losing their homes, hell people are losing everything. The market is in the tank and currently the only thing that is not an issue is fuel. So now what, we've got to find someone that is different and follow him like sheeple, who cares what he stands for or what he intends on doing just so long as he is different. I'm sure you know where I'm headed (I hope). Those leaders saw their opportunity to slide in under the radar and basically took over, life did not get better it got worse. I think about the only thing we have going for us if he is elected is he won't be able to turn it into a permanent position without a big fight and he does not have that type of power. (yet) Everything he stands for wreaks of socialism, and maybe more. I see a rough road if elected, if he tries to take leaps and bounds he'll be uncovered and even the democrats will want to impeach him. If he is slow and methodical he may just be able to slice and dice our rights.

Then again he may be a great president and bring us back to where we were, but I don't think so. I feel so positive about spreading the wealth that I'm going to go give half of my pay to the bums under the bridge by my shop.......

Oh yeah my little Obama sheeples, HE DID VOTE TO RAISE OUR TAXES IN A REFERENDUM VOTE WHICH MEANS NOTHING REALLY, EXCEPT THAT HE BELIEVES THAT IF NECESSARY HE WOULD RAISE TAXES! This vote took place before the current issues and the decline of our economy means that the government is getting a lot less money from taxes. What this means is they will also have less money to work with and Obama wants more money for all kinds of "SPREADING THE WEALTH" programs. So what does this mean to you an me? Higher taxes to spread the wealth.

The 2nd amendment has been under attack by the dems for some time, and will continue to be, especially if Obama gets elected. Obama supports a permanent assault weapons ban (might want to look and see what they're calling assault weapons), a ban on ammunition deemed "armor piercing" (definition is determined by velocity.  Many calibers used for hunting will be illegal.)  He supports a 500% increase on gun and ammunition taxes (he knows banning guns would go too far, so lets just make them unaffordable.)  He supports a limit on handgun purchases.  He believes cities, counties, and states have the right to make stricter laws concerning gun control, because the 2nd amendment is only federal.

The list goes on.  These aren't new tactics, and Obama and his running mate have been using them for years.

I don't make more than 250K a year either, not even close, but you'd have to be an idiot to believe thats truly the number he's going to use.  He's flip-flopped on the cutoff so many times, its not even funny.  I don't mind too much taxes being raised to help rebuild the country, but I'll be damned if I'm going to vote for someone who has said that he want's to redistribute the wealth in the nation.  That my friend is socialism.

It certainly is up to the parents to raise their kids with good values, in fact, it is their responsibility, their obligation.  However, the left wingers are the ones that are forcing political correctness down our throats, and trying to remove parent's rights.  Saying that teenagers don't need parent notification let alone permission for abortion?  Deciding that schools can and will teach about homosexuality, gay marriage, etc. in school, and the parents don't have a choice?  That is what the left wing government is pushing.

Toymin8er already addressed the 1st amendment issues, so I won't go there.

If you like your guns, if you like your wheeling, if you like your rights, you just voted for the enemy.

Nice post.

No matter the outcome of today's election...We the People must ride the Congress and new President like the Pony Express. Every bill, every amendment has to be given the same response the immigration bill got last time around. That's the way the framers meant it to be, they meant us to be involved in every level of government, as active participants...not as helpless bystanders.

To the extent that the Keynesian model supports increased government spending on infrastructure...I can agree with an earlier post, since we do have some deficiencies in our roads, bridges, etc. But, the Government can not spend us out of a recession. I much prefer supply side economics...it has been proven that cutting taxes causes an increase in receipts to the treasury. An economy does not grow from the bottom up, as Obama claims...rather it grows from the top down. Think about the last time the guy who wants to wash your windshield at a stop light offered you a job. Jobs for most come from people who are willing to take a risk, leave the security of someone else's employ to strike out on their own. America was built on individual effort. We have the 2nd highest corporate tax rates in the world, our capitol gains maximum rate is far too high (don't try to compare, as Obama does, lowering this rate from the Carter high to the levels of President Reagan...to raising them from where they are now to the President Reagan levels)...as is the death tax.

If our Federal taxes only funded programs that were actually...I don't know...Constitutional, we would only be taxed at a level that I figure would be about 35% of what we are now. People piss and moan about a hike in the price of gasoline...but the raping we are taking in taxes, all levels, makes fuel prices seem like a bargain. I challenge people to make a list of things that aren't taxed at some level and another list of things that you can do in day to day life that isn't regulated in some way.

Government is seldom the answer to a problem...more often, it's the cause of that problem.

I don't want a President who apologizes for America.

I don't want a President who is sworn to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution"...when he feels the Constitution is fatally flawed.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

Unfortunately, too many americans are too ignorant to see that!  They'll find out soon enough if obama is elected, but at this point things are looking grim...  Me thinks nathan needs to sell whatever he can and buy some little black guns while he still can!

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!
