Won't be so clean after Marlin Crawler. I need to get this done. Just finishing the front, now I need to link the rear and do some tube work.

What kinda shape is the tailgate in? Does it still have the top rail in place? I'd like to call FIRST DIBS on it. I didn't see any pics of it, only the front and side.

Tailgate has been gone for many years.

Yesterday I removed the bed so I can start the rear tube work and links. Gotta get creative when you are by yourself so I used my engine hoist.

Doing the vented rotor upgrade. These studs were easy on the press. I ended up having to find some metal for blocks. I was using 4x4 wood blocks and they collapsed. I used the original solid axle studs with no problem.

So I picked up some IFS hubs to get rid of the WARN hubs. My buddy had some stock solid axle ring gears that I thought I would modify to make fit. I removed the IFS ring gears. Machined the solid axle ring gears on a lathe enough so that I could get the snap ring on. I had to take my time on the lathe because these things are hardened. The ring gear slips right into the IFS body and the snap ring for the axle went right on.

IF I break these I will get some LONG's. In the meanwhile I saved $130.00.

The one on the very right is the old IFS ring gear.

Will I make it to MCR8 with only one week left to finish this build up?

I still need:

Make rear link system
Rear disk conversion and replumb rest of brake system
Tube rear section
Mount new gas tank
New water pump
Fab new fan shroud
Start engine that has been sitting for 3 years
Install new exhaust
Get new drive shafts made
Work out any bugs

You'll make it if you bust ass.

I've busted some stuff out and I've even suprised myself how fast it got done.

Yeah.. That is what I have to do. Failure is not an option. To top it off I will drive the rig there from Los Angeles with not much time for break in. I gotta get it right from the get go.
