swap dashes? :D ive always liked the newer 4runner and tacoma dashes.

I do not have the dash from the Tacoma, just the wiring that went in it and the engine and transmission that powered it.

I had a long day today but my new bumper is finialy mounted.

I need to touch up some paint, install my winch and a few other things. I will get a few better shots later, time for bed.

How are you liking the 80-series front compared to the mini-truck front end? I'm pondering a switch since I picked up a FF 80-series rear.

It takes some time to get the leafs set up. I got my perches from Ruffstuff. Had to make them fit the housing. I do not remember how much the kuckles cost me, contact Billybob and hell get you a quote.

The bumper looks good mounted. Nice to see it not kicking around the shop floor anymore.

Well I may be going with the 3.4 sooner then I had thought...... I have been having serious issues with my cooling system lately. 1st thought was possibly a large air bubble somewhere in the block that still needed to be burped out. Apx 2 weeks ago I replaced the Radiator, cap, and t-stat (non OEM) and I have been over heating nearly every day. Each time I catch it quick before the radiator over flow spews coolant everywhere. Pull over then release pressure in the system. Before I release the pressure the upper radiator hose is solid as a rock telling me there is a blockage of some kind some where. I do not believe I am loosing much coolant, but I do smell the rich/ sweet exhaust telling me that some is getting into the exhaust system. could this be another blown/ cracked head gasket just 1 year after my last?

Thoughts on the 3.4 swap, Will a 21 spline stock gear driven t-case be sufficient or will 23 spline in puts, and upgraded 30 spline outputs be worth it? I have the stock tacoma auto transmission and I do not wheel with a heavy foot.

run an auto trans man with a manual valve body and torq conv lock up kit. and run 23 spl all the way out.

Anyone know if the tacoma auto transmission requires a 23 spline input for the t-case?

1995-2004 5VZ-FE 3.4-liter V6 drivetrains

This adapter kit allows you to bolt the Toyota RF1A Gear Drive Transfer case behind your Tacoma/4Runner/T100 5-speed or automatic transmission.

We have designed our kit using a 23-spline coupler for ultimate strength. Therefore, a 23-spline gear drive transfer case or Crawl Box input will be required.

Thanks. Well that means I have 1 23 spline case already, now I will need to get a 23 spline adapter and a crawl box.

That sucks about your motor issues. I'd throw that pos threw the window of the builders place. It's really not that hard to build a decent 22re. On a brighter note, that 3.4 is gonna be really nice.

Are you running the same spring perch width as a stock mini-truck front axle? In other words, did you modify the front spring hanger and run the goofy shackles to go to a wider spring perch location?

Sorry to hear that about your motor. That is so frustrating :(

I am running a wider 31" spring hanger, that is why I moved the shackles.

I have been looking into the 3.4 swap and it should be pretty easy with everything that I have.

Going to see what is up for sure with my engine on Friday.

Work that never ends; you got that right. I did my SAS in 99 and have been working on it ever since.
Bought a RuffStuff housing to replace the bent front stock housing (fourth one since 99). As I am working on it I discover both my shock mounts a cracked. I built these shock hoops in 99 so I could make a run to the hammers; they were supposed to be temporary. As I am cutting them off with my Plasma cutter, the cutter takes a dump on me so I have to take it and get it repaired. Get it back today and it works great. Cutting off the hoops today I discover the frame is cracking behind the motor mount. Now I have to make some plates for the frame!!!
Never ending work, you bet!!!!

I have a 2nd blown head gasket in 11 months on my Davez offroad engine. I have sent an email to Dave with no response. I am ditching the 22re all together. It is obvious that Dave does not stand behind his product.

I got the truck towed home yesterday and I'll be doing some welding on the cage, and those plates tomorrow, then dive back to the shop to finish the cage and pull this engine.
