The 92-95 front ends are different than the 90 front end. Plus I don't know how much work it would be to make a pickup body work on a 4runner frame... although it would be cool to have the factory 4 link rear on a pickup. Thanks for the search help though!

Today was a good day. I was walking around out behind the metal shop with my friend ( joe s on here) so he could show me his clutch that he took off of his 350. He had thrown it in the metal bin, so we went over there. Guess what I found in the metal bin? Some coil springs. So guess what I did? I took them home. So later today, after work, I worked on the 85; I changed my oil and started working on fitting the coils in the rear of my truck. It took some time and I had to get a spring compressor, but I got it to work with the help of joe s. :woohoo: It lifted the rear of my truck a good 6 inches, which brings it about back to where stock height is. I am happy. It even rides smoother.

I also took the boots off of my crappy rancho shocks, because all they were doing was collecting mud and dirt in there. I also cleaned out my rear drums.

Now I have pretty much decided to part out the 90 (totally what the PO did not want me to do, lol), so I am going to rob the rear packs on the 90 for a couple leaves to stick in my front pack.

Total invested in project Big Dreamer: $0. I also named my truck the Big Dreamer. I now have enough room for 33s, maybe 35s with some trimming in the rear. Pics will come tomorrow.

ok, update time: I just got done working on pulling apart the 90 and putting it back together well enough that it will roll. I stole some rear leaves off of it. And yes, its like 2:20 in the morning, lol. I did this whole job with NO air tools... it sucked. Stupid neighbors callin the cops on my for "disrupting the peace" :headshake: Anyways, its pic time. I do not have any before shots, sorry. Just imagine the bumpstop 1 inch away from its strike plate.

Crappy night shots, sorry. My shackle angle doesn't look too bad now. Oh, and joe s wanted me to make sure you guys knew that was his boot in that one pic. Now my truck has a noticeable forward lean. That is what the last crappy night shots are for! They show the leaves I am going to mix in with the 85 front leaves.

Any questions just ask. I will eventually get daylight pics of the coil from the side with the tire/wheel off.

so thy just sit in there ?

Yes. One small end of the coil seats perfectly around the lower bumpstop and self centers on it leaving it resting on both U-bolts. The other small end of the coil I cut about 4 inches off of so it would sit flush along the side of the strike plate. I will be adding some bolts with fender washers to the strike plate to ensure the coil does not pop out of the top. Then, if it gets pulled off of the bottom, the bumpstop will act as a self centering device to line it back up so it will rest  back where it was. Make sense?

I towed with it today. It towed beautifully! No more bottoming out for me!

thats a bigass trailer for just that lawn mower...looks like its holding it well though. have you had a chance to flex the suspension with the coils in yet?

We use that trailer for everything, the tractor just happened to be what was on it. That tractor is fricken heavy too, my truck was struggling a little bit with it. I have not had a chance to flex it yet, I have been working on other things this weekend

I am doing the hi-clearance fenders on the 85 from: http://toyotafiberglass.com/fenders.htm

Ok, time for a little update: I got my engine home from the school, I need to finish painting some stuff and it will be ready to drop in. Here is my list of stuff to do over summer in no particular order:

Finish engine
Install engine
Rebuild pass side knuckle
Fix brakes
Make front lift packs
Fix the KDX
Rebuild f-150 t-case
Rebuild dirtbike trailer to a higher altitude to work with the lifted truck

I am sure there are others, but I don't remember them right now.

I made a trip out to a friend's ranch Monday, here is the trip up there:

Big D is ready to go

Cruising between 70 and 85... 75 and up has a bad shake to it, and yes, I am steering straight, the saggy suspension throws the steering wheel that far off!

The power plant is working hard

Ranch equipment junkyard!

Cattle drive in the rain

Purdy pictures taken off of the dirt county road

Road down into the ranch

:willynilly: washed out culverts! :willynilly:

And then the work begun!

KDXSR5

Here is what is left of the horse corral... the flood really moved it! Where that pound in post is used to be where the coral was!

Some debris washed down from above in the leach field (where the waste water goes... :reg: )

A few debris piles... no one knows where that concrete came from, lol, and an uprooted bush thing... many of these were laying around uprooted

Washed out path

I was working on rebuilding plumbing and electrical going to the pump house since the water was going OVER this bridge destroyed the electrical and plumbing

Purdy picture and dad's truck "working"

Area around the pump house... that fence was DESTROYED

Trail going down to the now forever changed swimming hole... the flood removed the bridge that goes across the creek that was made out of railroad ties and concrete... also, as you can see, the platform was destroyed and it is just all around bad

And then it was decided that we should head home before we get stuck down at the ranch due to muddy roads

KDXSR5

Big D ready to go home

A purdy pic on the way out... notice the dead cow skeleton

Finally back to asphalt! and headed home

The trip was fun, wet, cold and somewhat successful. Much more work will need to be done to get the place back to "normal"

Yup! My rig is not quite ready for rocks yet though.

KDXSR5

I swapped in the 1 inch master from the 90 and bled the whole system tonight... the change is amazing! I need to change out the booster too, but I have never changed one, so I don't know how to take it off/put it on.

KDXSR5

I am making progress in cleaning out the garage so I can work on stuff in there. It has not had a car in it in at least 6 years. Its bad.

KDXSR5

KDXSR5

I need to swap the booster and the front calipers and use the vented fj rotors.

KDXSR5

I took the booster off of the 90 and I am currently painting it. It will go in sometime soon, I hope. I hope its a good booster!

Are you sure it's the booster? My 89 surges but the booster is fine. I have to clean out the idle/air control cause it isn't seating right.

I have no clue what it coult be but it only does it when I step on the brakes

KDXSR5

My truck drops idle when I step on the brakes too. 93tonkatoy (I believe thats the correct name) explained it to me. It is because my idle is too high. When I step on the brake something happens that causes the computer to go crazy and try to drop my idle which causes the motor to surge. My idle is too high because of vacuum leaks.
