sad story...dash should be here this week or the next but the guy that was going to give me the cab wasn't around town when I was, so now I will have to wait till thanksgiving to get it (and that is gonna be freakin' cold when I finally get it put on).

Alright, figured I would bring this back from the dead. Cab I was going to get turned out to be extremely rusted out. I have a new dash that I have to put in, but I need a cab first.

What I plan on trying to find soon:
Cab
Fenders
Hood

Also found out I need to rebuild the front axle, so new kit from Marlin should be here soon.

Alright, new cab and bed are on!!!!!!! Took about 3 days to get everything done...will have pics up soon of the process! Decided to paint the frame while everything was off.

New idea on paint too. Right now it is just primer black. Truck used to be purple and somebody shot primer all over it (they also added flames to the fenders...sounds like a disgrace to offroad pics picture!). I'll fill ya'll in on what I am going to do with the paint when I put up the pictures.

So the new paint: my fiance' works at an elementary school and is always looking for stuff for the kids to do (really small school...around 10-15 kids). This truck is going to have a lot in it and I want everybody that wants to have their part have it. So, the truck will be tan with black fender flares and I am going to let the kids put black handprints all over the bottom part of the cab and bed (under the body line that is in the middle of the side of the truck). Should look good when it is done.

My new truck (bought the hood, fenders, doors, bed, cab, and tailgate for 200 with a title...looks like I am going to be driving on the street)!! Couldn't have done this without the help of Ray (BrokenWrench) and Andy (ajordan1975)...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Won't be able to make Feb...but I do plan on the March trip. You goin? Trying to get all the loose ends all put back together with the truck (interior)...and to cut out the stupid roll bar that is tach welded to the bed (still trying to figure out what I want to do for a cage).

So now I need ideas...I was cleaning out the cab today and pulled up some of the old insulation that the guy before put on. There is a rust spot that goes down through the floor about 2x2"...and might be bigger. The hole is right next to the front body mount and not sure what would be the best fix for it...so...any ideas?? I am thinking about just cutting a huge square and welding/bolting a new plate in its place, but not sure how far the rust goes into the side of the body. This sucks.

Getting a few things done and will update later this week. The insulation that was in the cab is also underneath it. Seems like some weird 80's style undercoating but all it does is hold in water and dirt. So slowly working on the truck again since my first draft of my thesis has been turned in. I will get as much done as I can and update the thread before I get my revisions back.

negatory...I still have to rebuild 2 body mounts on this truck...

New fenders and what the new color will be. Before I painted the bed I went ahead and trimmed the fender to fit the 33 with absolutely no rubbing when the tire is tucked in. I will trim the front fenders like I had them before. I will put in a spray in bed liner and it will go over and on the other side of the bed rails...I am going all the way over just in case I need to hook something to the bedrail...would rather it not scratch it down to bare metal again. I'll get a pic of the strange covering that the truck has on the underside later on.

Look at it...not much I can do when 2 of my body mounts are about to let go of the rest of the truck. This is a project to get to go wheeling...I did not buy it ready to roll.

Well, the truck is going to take yet another turn. The rust is horrible on the floorboard and I have found 3 of the 4 actual cab mounts need to be replaced. So now I am trying to get another truck to swap all of my parts over to (not going to swap the cab again...that was a PAIN!). I will know by this friday if I will be getting it or not and I will post up.
