on top of your knuckle you have 4 studs that hold on your steering arms, these are a weak link in the toyota axle and are commonly sheared off, longfield.com sells a kit which is pretty much a 2" long piece of angle iron and a bolt, for each side, which is substantially harder to shear 5 bolts than 4, compare to the 6 shooter kit from TRAITOR GEAR $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I fixed it for ya. Those knuckles are definitely a big part of why I call them that.

no, once your axle is apart, drill a hole on top of your knuckle, put a bolt through it, tack it in place, put you axle together with your steering arms tightened down, put a piece of angle on top of the knuckle with a hole drilled to match the one on your knuckle, tighten a nut on the bolt then weld the angle to the arm

hey guess what? :boobs:

thats what this thread and your rig will be if you can do work at your house from now on.

the only thing i havent done at home was cut the holes for front shackle, weld the tubes in, and cut the tubing for my rear shackle hanger...everything else has been here at home...

hey sillywilly while you got that front axle out, you should seriously think about the 5th stud kit that bobby long sells, and copy his design, im kicking myself for not doing it when i had my axle apart, it will be well worth it!!   :bananabeer:

i just check it out and i would love to do that, but i dont have the 40 to spend on it... i might booty fab it with some extra :pokinit: i have laying around here... if i plan on it ill do a buildup on it... if not then ill do it after my cert class is over half way through feb
