Doof

lol i dont have the needed supplies to get it done this weekend... hopefully soon though

here is my plan... its  a doozy so hang in there with me for a second...

im going to take the front axle off and just put the put the frame on jack stands. im going to just take it off the shackle mounts so it rolls out with springs and all... when its off im going to then put that on stands, drill new holes in the spring perch 1" back to move the axle forward, and im going to take the hysteer off, paint the arms, and when the knuckle is off im going to put in the knuckle studs lil buddy gave me (ill take a pic so you know what im talking about), paint all that needs to be painted, weld of the knuckle gussets, put it all back together, and go wheel it... so that is 4 birds with one stone at one shot... and im also going to make the rear shackle mounts and mount in the /\ stance, and get the rear flip kit on also.... welp thats about it for now, o and also paint my foam insulation filler that will hopefully do its job and stop water from getting in through my fenders... pics of that to come also, since its done

skipnrocks

Good crap i had to stop and eat dinner about half way through that!!   LOL I still dont get why you wont have it done by monday!   Weill be waitin  cause

so lil brody came over today and we were kicking the tire about :pokinit:, and he convinced me to just do the knuckle work here at home. so today i went and picked up a slag hammer, some more 6013 1/8" electrode, and an auto darkening hood that ive been wanting to get for a while. it was a harbor freight special, the blue flame one. i used the same one at school my snr year and really liked it so i just nutted up and spent the money and picked it up. i made it baller by removing the blue flames  :stopit: and i put on some  :turtle3: bling... its good to go now

so i figure this weekend im going to clean the shop, get the jeep frame out of there, clean the garage, get the packard out of there and park my runner in there, and get the all that work done in one day. if you dont know all the work im talking about read up a few posts to my last long ass post and it should tell you what my plans are... so no more going to the mill to weld, its all done at home now

skipnrocks

That a boy, LB is good for you!!  LOL I thought you were going to stop by and pick up the rod, now you wasted the money!!

Cool on doin the work at home!  It will be awesome to be able to do it all in house! :beerchug:

hey sillywilly while you got that front axle out, you should seriously think about the 5th stud kit that bobby long sells, and copy his design, im kicking myself for not doing it when i had my axle apart, it will be well worth it!!   :bananabeer:

on top of your knuckle you have 4 studs that hold on your steering arms, these are a weak link in the toyota axle and are commonly sheared off, longfield.com sells a kit which is pretty much a 2" long piece of angle iron and a bolt, for each side, which is substantially harder to shear 5 bolts than 4, compare to the 6 shooter kit from trail gear $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
