Also try hitting the starter lightly with a wrench. Always works for me. :gap:

What condition are your cables?  If you got the original battery cables, get rid of them and get better heavy duty cables!  Factory cables are small and corrode very easily!  Get cables that have sealed ends.  The factory clamps are garbage too!

Make sure all the grounds are cleaned real good too!  Take some sand paper, or a small dremel tool and clean the area the ground straps go to, and buff up the connectors too!  And make sure the bolts, screws are tight!  I like to use a small bolt and nut, when I can, to fasten the grounds to the body!  You get a tighter hold.  If your not able to, use a lock washer as it will bite into the ground and contact!  Also, I use some anti-corrosion to keep the contacts clean!

Also, check your starter relay, it may be weak, and not giving 100%.

Toyota's (22re) have 3 ground points, one by the alt., the back of the block, and the ground from the negative post that goes to the block and a small wire to the fender!

Head gasket in good shape?  If not it will hydraulic a cylinder and your starter will engage, but won't turn over!
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

Bypass the ignition wire by running a aux. light relay, run the ignition through the the relay like it is a toggle switch then run wire direct from the battery like you would with the lights, then run the other side of the of the ignition wire (starter side) like it were the lights. No more click, click. You can also use a Ford solenoid but I don't like anything that will possibly stick open if you have a low battery condition.

Are you totally sure the battery was fully charged when you got it?  Sure your connections are all tight and you have no bad wires?  You didn't buy the starter from vatozone or kragen did you :_oops:
