I say, Jamaica.  Ditch the college idea.  You can live in a hut and live off the land.  Fish, and trade coconuts for whatever else you need.   That's my plan anyway.  :yesnod:

I work for an architectural firm, and I am currently doing work on a project at Daytona Beach Community College.
That's what gave me the idea.
It's about a mile from the beach. Its a very well respected community college, there are a lot of other well respected colleges in the area, the cost of living in FL is WELL BELOW CA. so the relocation costs would be a plus to him.
AND.. it is warm here most of the year... Daytona beach.... Not only the college weeks but... bike week :boobs:... race week :boobs: ... biketoberfest .. :boobs:  ...

Not at a RESORT silly.....I'm talking about roughing it here.  Just dressing in leaves, fishing and trading coconuts. And whatever else villagers do.  No cell phones, no internet, no 8-4 desk jobs.  Just living as one with nature as it was intended.

I have a friend who lives in Denver and he seems to like it alot.  I can ask him for details on the area activities and/or best towns to live in if you want.  :yesnod:

I spent a month in Aurora Colorado and had a great time. Nice people.. nice homes and somewhat similar to CA so its not a HUGE change from the norm.

I hear its about the same.. pricing wise.  But I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind living there one day.

I've been to Aurora Colorado. It reminded me of Oakland CA  :twocents:

Denver is still a big city. I would move to Boulder Colorado.

Where ever you decide to go, try to get your vehicles reg first & put on your plates. People in other states don't like Californian's  :twocents:

Both of my brothers moved from CA to Round Rock, Texas (outside of Austin). Great college town (UT) and the cost of living is really low.

I spent a few years there as a kid then moved further out to a small town called Taylor. I can't comment on how it is now but I have great memories of growing up there.
Hug your kids, pray for a soldier, and don't sweat the small stuff.

If I were to move back to colorado I'd pick Fort Collins over Denver or Boulder, but I'm biased that way.  Not great for a career, but an awesome place to go to school.

From what my brothers tell me, Round Rock is the product of Dell Computer which is headquartered there. A majority of the construction and improvements stem from Dell who bypassed Austin for a smaller town environment. They both like it other than the weather. They were in San Diego before the move and you can't get weather better than SD. 8)
