If you had nothing holding you back and you could move away pretty much anywhere to go to school where would you?  I'm trying to find somewhere new to relocate too and go to school and move on with a career because its just not happening here for me.

Where would you go?

CTENG in KS

If you have any interest in getting into aerospace industry and engineering, etc...Wichita is a great place to get started.  Wichita State has a good Aerospace program due to the area industry, and there are more jobs here than just about anywhere.  Cost of living is low making it easier to pay rent, etc while you are at school and stuff.  I haven't checked it out too much, but there is wheeling in KS and some good stuff in OK (clayton and disney!).

edit:  once you have a few years in the industry, aerospace can take you anywhere...europe, back to california (southern), seattle, Phoenix, alba-quirky, Georgia, Carolinas, Connecticut...really opens up a lot of possibilities plus transfers well into other mechanical engineering type jobs.

what are you looking for career wise?

i am looking into the fire service, and there are a lot of good places around here... with CA there are always fires, and when they arent figthing fires, they are helping people out on medical calls, it isnt a job for everyone though....

I hate fire..........

maybe I should restart this post a little.  I'm not so worried about the career opportunities of the area but more so the atmosphere of the area.  I want to be able to wheel, fish, and hunt within a reasonable distance but still be able to enjoy a good nightlife and abundance of girls that most college towns have

maybe I should say i'm not a desert guy and I dont really like big cities either

Jeez...Mexico?
You don't like much...

There is stuff to do in Wichita.  I can't comment as I no longer drink, therefore, no longer go out and party.  KS is pretty easy going with the hunting, guns, fishing stuff...Wichita is a small city, but spread out, not crowded, no traffic jams.  Oh yeah, and you won't have to smog your truck either.

I spent a month in Aurora Colorado and had a great time. Nice people.. nice homes and somewhat similar to CA so its not a HUGE change from the norm.

I hear its about the same.. pricing wise.  But I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind living there one day.

Both of my brothers moved from CA to Round Rock, Texas (outside of Austin). Great college town (UT) and the cost of living is really low.

I say, Jamaica.  Ditch the college idea.  You can live in a hut and live off the land.  Fish, and trade coconuts for whatever else you need.   That's my plan anyway.  :yesnod:
