Thats where i mounted mine at in the same exact spot seems to work well. When i did my box i moved it as far forward as i could but then again my front end is moved 3" forward yours is only about and 1 1/2 so you should be fine. Lookin good dude, I wanna see this thing rollin again.  :bud:

Does it need to go up more?  Keep in mind I dont have the pitman arm cranked down yet...Forward more?  Its as far as it can go without cutting the radiator support, and I have already done the new spring hanger and put on the marlin springs so the axle isnt moving farther forward anytime soon...

Looks good man! As long as the steering shaft is lined up properly and isnt catching on anything you should be good. That is almost identical to how i have mine mounted. Sounds like you have a mount for it so you should be good to go. You are going to be in steering heaven when you get that all finished up....power steering AND crossover steering...  :rockingout: Looking good...

Alright...I hauled some   :moon:  today and got the pump and bracket, tensioner , and out pulley on the crank mounted, the belt is on, and the mount for the box is in place....

82juguete

Not much to look at...but
Bracket and tensioner mounted

Pump in place with distributor reinstalled

And heres the box mount in place....

Tomorrow after work I will burn that in, mount the reservoir, maybe get to mounting the box, and then come this weekend Itll be a matter of hooking up hoses and finally, ill be rollin again...

Alright...heres a little update for anyone who cares.....
I havent posted on my build for awhile because I have been sorting out issues with my newly installed steering....Anyway heres a little bit of catch-up

The mount welded up

And heres the culprit...The first steering box which lead to rediculous binding and other issues that can be read about on the tech board

82juguete

I Installed that one before last weekend and had problems ever since, so I got a rebuilt one from marlin and put it in today...

So far this one seems to be working great!

82juguete

Also finally got around to mounting the stabilizer today... Ive been driving around without one for about a week and I probably couldve left it off, but i like the resistance it provides... makes the steering a little more consistent and predictable in my opinion...

82juguete

And lastly, I put a new master cylinder on...as my old one was starting to bypass and my brake pedal would ease to the floor before I got any stopping power...

As you could imagine, this brake problem, combined with my lack of steering left me driving a deathtrap to and from work last week.  The new MC did the trick and my test drive went very smoooth....Nice to get things buttoned up (for awhile at least)

82juguete

Now I get to sit back and wait a couple weeks for my crawlbox to get built!!!

Tallchevy

Nice  Glad to hear you got the steering taken care of

Truck looks great!  Did your front springs finally level out?  I just bought a set of MC 4" springs, and that got me a little worried.

DTB

nice, clean work looks good

thanks guys...I got a little update but I wont post it up until later tonight.  Actually AW, even after I welded in the pad on the driver side perch, I still keep 2 bags of sand in the passenger side of the bed to keep it level...  Im considering swapping the front springs when I feel up to it...

82juguete

Well, I finally got tired of looking at this, for the couple of months after the idiots felt the need to bust up my dash, even though the cd player was practically just setting in there...

82juguete

So it all started with a cardboard template

82juguete

Here it is cut out of sheet metal and primed...

82juguete

Then with the help of this little stencil I made...

82juguete

I finished it out with a subtle MARPAT desert camo theme to match my brown/beige interior.  Also added some switches for lights and such, and I am pretty happy with it...

82juguete

Oh...and heres a little preview of things to come....well, when I have some money again...

Im pretty excited about this one!!

DTB

what did u do with the stencil?

I used it to mask and paint with different shades of brown/tan/ grey on the panel, if you look closely...
