I thought those looked like bridgestone track tires.  I just chucked on a set of bt016 that I can't wait to try.  I've always liked the metzeler sportecs since they warm up super quick and slide very predictably on the rare occassion they let go, then pirellis for the track, but I'm stoked to try these since they have the dual compound front and triple compound on the rear.  Track tires just don't do it for me on the street, you have to ride too hard for way too long to get them warm enough to work well.

I've never ran the bt016's but my brother has and he loves them Although, he has recently switched back to the michelin pilot power 2ct's because he has a long commute and they last longer. But I am very very pleased with mt bt002's! A couple months ago at palomar while taking a right hand decreasing radius turn both of my tires started to slide and I started dragging my pipe but it was very controlled and I was able to recover without lowsiding. As for warm up time I find that the bt002 seem to warm up fairly quickly and seem to work very well right from the start.
I LOVE MY YOTAS!!

Well I DID have an LT250R that I built the crap out of for the sand. Did the whole thing from bar to wheel and then traided it for my yota after not touching it for over a year. It had tooooooo much money in it for me to be willing to ride in the dirt.

Nice, one of my dream bikes!  Hopefully all that gear is put to the test on the track and not the street  ;)  Too many variables to ride too hard on the street, ask me how I know  :haha:  Good choice in helmets though, I've field tested 2 so far and am only a little bit of a brick rather than the full on vegetable I should be.

Other than someone like Nicky Hayden the RC51 is just way too much bike. Don't get me wrong I love it but damn it's a hoss. Thinking about selling it next year and just buying a track only bike. My RC51 is way to pretty to take to the track and laydown in a corner. Way to many crazy people in cars. I actually saw a woman reading a frickin book while she was driving the other day along with people texting and not paying attention. Thinking about a SV650 or an Aprilia RS250 for my track bike.

I'm sure both would be great track bikes.  I'd love to run my f4i track bike on the track finally, but if I were to actually race I'd look into either bike you listed.  IIRC, the local 600 class was called 600 supersport, but all the racers just called it 600 supercrash.  You can pretty much guess why  ;)

It's only like $30 or so (from memory) but I know I will be out over $100 with the backfees/state fund-raising.

The DMV had a 50min wait and I only had an hour, so I left. I made an appointment for next week

That's why I use the AAA DMV counter. I've never been there longer than 15 minutes with no appointments. I love that they offer that service. Just can't do testing there but they'll take your money.

Even at the busier redding office, if you're waiting more than 20 minutes then something's wrong!

Wow that looked very painful :disturbed:... poor guy. Oh yeah and by the way a lot of those comments on that gixxer.com web page seemed to be made by some real jerkoffs. Funny how when somebody does something stupid the asshats really want to point it out so they feel better about themselves... :shake_head:

I knew a guy who did that with an old harley running I think a 4 row chain. I will just say he lost quite a bit more finger than that guy did. Ouch.

Good heads up to remember never to use a rag around a angle grinder, a bench grinder or anything else that can pull you in!. And not to wear gloves around those too.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

My new auto teacher the last year of high school always tried to make us wear gloves when using a grinder. I would of course always refuse and say it is less safe. He did not believe me until he sucked his hand into the bench grinder running a wire wheel because he was wearing gloves. He no longer wears gloves while using grinders.

Just saw this on craigslist:  http://redding.craigslist.org/mcy/1469489888.html

I remember watching the paris to dakar races several years ago and seeing cbr900 powered quads racing.  This thing would be an absolute blast in the dunes!

well I sold my 02 r1.
after months of half mile to mile wheelies,
we had our baby girl and I decided she needs me more than I need the rush-bike
I miss it, bad.

but oh well I might buy a 05-07 R1 this summer
my R1 had a balance point of like 12oclock,
02 and 03 are way crazy the motors are so far forward

I like my balance point at 11oclock.
so the newer R1's balance at 11,

heres a few pics of it the day I sold it.
