Do they let you use the ballastic nylon suits (with armor) or do you have to have leathers to drag your bike?

I'd have to check again, but I believe you have to have a 1 or 2 piece leather only suit.

Kid snagged video of the run where I missed 2nd gear for me.  Waiting for it to load for me, but so far it looks great for a droid phone!  This is one of the runs where I went against the turbo neon, which actually ran better than I expected.

11.59, don't know if I could possibly pull an 11.1.  I didn't actually watch it till the very end since it was late and I'm on dialup.

I thought that was a decent launch.
I have no sound on my comp.

Im always on 1 wheel through first, just a few inches up tho.

hel$ I dont if I could beat that launch

kneedownnate

Thanks, it was probably about my best of the night.  It is hard to gauge what rpm to keep it at, how long to slip the clutch and how hard you can lay into it without launching the front end, but it's fun to try figuring it out  :disturbed:  We used to do find out of the way places and drag around the time I first went to the strip, so that probably explains why my launches were better then, but I should have a leg up if I do it again soon.

Nice.  Storage is a pregnant dog on a bike.  Mine has a trunk underneath the rear seat, but to fit a 16 oz water bottle in it I have to drink half of it and crush it down.

Going on about 170 mile loop ride today.  Wrist held out great last weekend, but yesterday I turned real quick and hit my knee on an arm of a tire changer and rolled the cap completely off to the side, so hopefully I don't have any issues with that.  Feels fine and felt fine 2 minutes later, but certain angles makes it feel like my knee is going to buckle.  Here's hoping  :crossed:

you dont have a side cover that comes off for regist and tool kit?
I thought all them bikes had it ???

kneedownnate

Got my dates wrong for the actual ride but ended up doing part of it myself.  Knee was ok, a little sting here and there, but my wrist is jacked up.  This sucks!  I don't know if I'm going to have to get a different bike or something, but I can't keep riding like this forever.

shitty,
more cruiser style?

kneedownnate

I'm hoping naked standard or supermoto.  Sv650/1000, honda 929, kawi z1000, or drz400sm.  I've been kicking around the idea of jumping up to a cbr954 if I could sell enough stuff at the right time, just not sure what the physical size difference might be like or if the tank is too bulbous for me to be comfortable.  Otherwise the 954 should actually be more comfortable than mine.

The other option I always forget, I could get off my lazy butt and get my vfr800 running and do the naked street fighter thing with it, but it'll probably cost more to do all that and register it than it would to get another bike.  Would be a sweet engine for that kind of bike, not to mention that v4 is one of the sexiest sounding motorbike engines  :drooling:

i ride my brother-in-laws Harley 883 and wear my $130 HJC flat black w/ graphics helmet.  Someday I will have one of my own.

Just taking my brother for a cruise around the block (his first time on a bike):

Threads like this make me want to finally pull the trigger on the Ducatis I keep oggling on the way to work but I keep thinking about ending up a victim of an idiot that kills me casually while sending a text to their BFF.  Every time I pass the dealer I begin to debate the issues of riding a moto in my head... :smack:

Ah, good deal

Just ran across this and this project was insane!  Guy took an 83 yamaha tt600, changed the head tube angle to fit a yzf tank, added disc brakes and made his own rear brake lever and master cyl mount, then stuck cr250 forks on it.  Steering angle looks a little lazy to me, but I bet it'd be one hell of a baja bomber!

Hammerhead

These crash pics make me hurt all over.  I need to find my pics of the crash that took me off the circuit years ago.

As for nowadays I'm still ridin' my old street legal flattrack racer.  Wanna talk about slidin?   LOL

I did pull the desert racer out of the shed the other day.  Need to give it a carb job and a service...
