well, i was taking pictures of the engine and stuff, not beer cans lol.  if i had taken a picture of the bed of my truck you would see a large pile of crushed cans and a lot of bottles  also, i wasnt drinking the day i built my motor.  just smokin the reefer

oh and just so everybody knows, the engine is rediculously fast.  it sounds and feels like it belongs in a track car of some sort.  my tires weigh almost 100 lbs each and this truck HAULS ASS.  it has so much horsepower.  i bought an air fuel meter and a delay timing light....the engine is tuned very nicely.  i am able to take full advantage of the weber 38. before i built the motor, wide open throttle would make it bog.  now W.O.T. blows your socks off.  maybe one day if i upgrade my truck to a ford 302 i will take this motor and put it in a 2 wheel drive.  that would be one fast truck, holy cow.  i need to record a 1/4 mile time or 0-60 time.  that would be awesome. i wonder if i could do a quarter in under 20 seconds

so couple months ago my friend kevin got an 85 sr5 extra cab pickup with a rebuilt 22re, COMPLETLY stock, and then took it wheeling a couple times. he hated how it was stock and i offered to build it for him pretty much with the same setup i did on my truck.  i put chevy springs on the back with a single shackle, 14" bilsteins, and did the rear springs up front with tall hoops and 14" bilsteins and a sky's offroad 2" drop front hanger and banana shackles and the works.  oh and high steer....and u bolt flip kits, knuckle gussets, 2" body lift, MSD ignition and coil, FJ vented rotors and V6 calipers and marlin brake lines, :blah: etc etc
hes been driving it on the street getting used to it, and everything is solid as f**k, so we went wheeling today with his truck and mine.  night fell and we were wheeling in a creek, and kevin drove off a ledge of soft dirt and rolled his truck onto its side, almost all the way upside down.  it anniahlated the front passenger fender and door and that whole side of the cab for the most part.  it buckled and tweaked the whole cab from rolling onto the roof for part of the flop...the windshield didnt break but the back sliding windows all popped out and the passenger door is like a crushed beer can! i didnt have a camera except my crappy phone so ill try and get some pics up.  i have been meaning to post pics of what i built on his truck, and now i will be doing that along with flop pics!
it ended up with me dragging his truck on its side about 6 or 8 feet to a point where i could get a good angle at the underside of the frame and yank it over with a tow strap.  just another time i have been very glad to have lockers and dual cases!

there is some fine tuning i need to do, such as longer rear shackles, new rear spring perches to rotate the rear axle and get his pinion angle right and build a rear single piece driveline, i need to add another leaf in the front pack, and set up his rubber front bump stops.  i didnt do that crappy grinding on the frame rails, that was someone else. everything else is all me, i didnt even really have any help the whole time. i dont know if i mentioned i rebuilt his knuckles with all new marlin parts and the marlin inner axle seals. this guy owes me some money

NOW HERES IT ON ITS SIDE!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

now heres my truck lookin sexy and not-rolled

i swapped out my flowmaster super 40 today for a dynomax thrush turbo muffler.  still 2.5" inlet and outlet like before with the same tailpipe.  this muffler is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter, its soo nice.  the super 40 sounded mean but it resonated really bad inside the cab and gave me a pounding headache and ringing ears after long drives. i would wear ear plugs on the freeway! im happier with a 25 dollar muffler than with a 100 dollar muffler, thats awesome

my engine wont idle, got a large vacuum leak, battery is fucked, front end is blasted out of alignment even though everything is still tight, lost my vent tube system for my carburetor, lost an air filter clip, the list goes on

you mean the rear shackles on the blue 85? im putting longer shackles on it, those are just what we had at the time. i welded the shackle hanger in the correct place for longer shackles, so right now they are way leaned back. also the back of the truck is lower so thats another reason for longer shackles

i dont think sometimes, thats how. no i have stock axle shafts. i engaged it on a hill climb :hammerhead:. im not sure whats broken yet, i either stripped part of the teeth on the side gear that the locking mechanisim locks over, or...um yeah im not sure. its not completly destroyed, just like one thing is broken. plus theres an assload of metal in my gear oil. and im too broke to buy new oil. rear diff still works like normal when unlocked. i dont even want to take it apart and look at it until i have the money to fix it. so for now im just gonna change the oil asap and get all the metal out and not use the rear locker. good thing i have a front locker too!
