 :smack:
ill take it apart and fix it dont worry. nothings broken too bad, smething just got teeth stripped off. i bought new assembled diffs from marlin with the arbs already installed. just dropped them into the axle. i was gonna set them up myself but i figured thats something a pro should do.
im gonna have to take apart the whole diff and take apart the locker. then replace whats fucked and put it back together

ill  be sure to take pics when i take it apart. im not gonna take it apart until i have money to fix it. and i dont work until january 5th. so its gonna be a while. i have a whole pile of stock 4.10 open third members laying around in my backyard, so ill probably throw one of those in while im fixing my 5.29 assembly.  maybe ill weld up the 4.10 before i throw it in my truck just for fun

Dude, you need to relax on the running and gunning tactics you got. drive it nice. it'll last longer. that is hella :gay: that you broke your ARB. can you put your front 3rd in the rear?  :dunno: but defiantly call  :turtle: and see if he'll do it free.

I think i'm going to come to town this weekend. you want some royal purple gear oil as a X-mas gift? anything else you might need to repair that :pokinit:? your going to need gear marking paint too. i can show you how to set the backlash and carrier preload.

we can  :drunk: and maybe do some sick  :flamer: too.

you dont have to give me anything for xmas i dont need anything.  i dont use any special gear oil cause i never know when ill have to drain it again.  i owe you a bumper so you are welcome to come over any time. i dont work for weeks so im never doing anything.  i can put my front 3rd member in the rear but flopp that. im not taking the front axle apart just for that. im gonna put a stock one in for a while itll be cool. i havent driven on 4.10s in a while.  im not gonna take the diff out and take it apart until i am working again and have money to get the broken parts.  i dont think marlin would fix it for free because im a retard and broke it myself.  also i have no idea what kind of warranty it has. im sure it doesnt cover what i did. live and learn

im about to weld up a stock 4.10 diff i have. its gonna be weird switching back from a 5.29 to a 4.10. plus itll be welded. i dont have any anti-spatter :pokinit: for welding, oh well. hopefully the spatter wont be too bad. ill be mig welding it with co2 and .030 solid wire. right now im trying to get the oil out of it.
im gonna scope out my rear ARB locker and see whats broken. that way when i call marlin ill be able to tell them whats wrong with it. if they want a ton of money to fix it im just gonna do it myself

thats what makes it fun though! :driving:
also, anything that breaks on me is obviously a weak point.  if something breaks i make it stronger. so far nothing has broke too bad tho. the only reason my ARB got broked is cause of not using it right :beerwhack: it has nothing to do with how hard i hammer on it

lookin pretty good!  my dad designed a set on his mini.  he built them to work with a soft upper half, kind of like half doors on a j**p.   they are'nt done yet though.

heres the drivers side door mostly done. i still have to grind the welds down and get them smooth and see if any holes appear, weld up any holes, grind those welds again, take all the old paint off of the door, bondo a couple places to make it look good.  then i have to paint both doors and make the interior side of the door look good and add a speaker and a cubby probably. oh yeah and put hinges on them. and the handle to open it from the inside, and i have to get keys made for the locks i have that came in the doors. i got the doors for free and now i have spare glass for my regular doors!

you can see the 2 spots i have to bondo on the last picture. overall this door came out better than my first one...i cut out one long piece of sheet metal and used that for the whole door (:psss: all the red part on the door). on the first one i made i was making it up as i went along and i ended up making the top part in a few pieces.

looks good, but my question is.... why do you need keys for the doors?  its not like you can lock yourself out!! :rofl2:

i dont need keys for the door locks, but i kind of like the idea of being able to lock the door :dunno:
also it just turned out with the way i cut the shape into the door that the door locks are still there

i guess when i think of locking a door, usually it is to keep someone or something out.  well if you have half doors then locking them wont keep anyone out!  i guess that is where i'm coming from.

oh yeah for sure!  i would put the lock in there so you dont have a hole. or since you are welding all that sheet metal and doing body work anyways, you might as well shave it!    if you are not going to shave it i would deffinately put the lock in there to fill the hole, but my point is that technically you still dont need keys because the lock wont be functional, correct?
