Thats sexy! I'd like to get a new rear driveshaft made someday. From a REAL driveline shop not from the local welding shop that did a half ass job on mine. Isnt being doubled up great? I love it, is the chain drive 2.28 also?

Being doubled up is sweet!! I can't wait until I make my front driveshaft so I can go wheelin!!  The chain drive is actually 2.57 I believe, so being doubled up is actually a little lower with the chain drive than with 2 gear driven cases

I had my driveshaft done by Driveline Services of Sacramento.  Cost me $200, but man that thing is nice   It fits perfectly, right on with my measurements, and no vibrations whatsoever, all the way up to 80mph (didn't go any faster than that, but it was smooth all the way up)

Started my half doors tonight.  Actually, all I did was gut them.  I tell ya what, that was a PITA  

1st pic is gutting the first door, 2nd one is both doors ready for cutting, and the 3rd is the line drawn where I'm gonna cut them. 

I'm planning on capping the doors with the excess sheetmetal from the cutting, and then putting some bondo on them to finish them off

well, did some more work on my half doors last friday, but didn't get to post them til today

Didn't get very far, I ran out of cutoff wheels for my grinder.  I'm gonna cap the doors with 2x4, hopefully gonna mount the old door latch somewhere   and I want to put a pad where people would rest their arm.

Are you going to leave the window frame in or cut it off? ( the part that has weather striping in it and holds the window when closed)

dude, let me weld em for ya - 2x4?? if you do use 2x4 ya better cover that sheetmetal edge!

doorlatch is easy - is is on a cable allready - just slide it down some. No need for an outer latch, just reach into the inside latch..

really?  that'd be sweet!!  I was gonna weld them, using my the scrap metal that I cut off, but I've only got an arc welder, and I was just burning that stuff up with it  

I meant I wanted to mount my inner latch.  I've got a buddy who just bent a loop in the bar for the inner latch, but I wanna skin the inside of the door, and I'd like to use the handle to keep it looking clean.

  That way the door will keep some of its strength, especially when people lean on it to get in the truck.  Also, I want to cover up the door frame of my truck, protect the weather stripping that is there, and I think it'll look better

I was planning on just cutting my old interior door panels to fit the half doors, just attach them how they were before, what do you think?

your going to have a sharp edge unless you do what I did and just close the whole thing off. You could weld in a little cubby hole I guess. I wouldn't mess wtih panels myself

this is true. .  how much does sheet metal usually run.  I have no idea, never needed to buy any, but the sheets we used to have at the hardware store I worked at were like $20-40 a peice for the size I need.  I'm guessing a metal shop would be cheaper, huh?

I'm trying to do this as cheaply as possible, but it may be better to go metal all the way.

dayum!!! I figured a metal shop would be cheaper than a hardware store, but not that much cheaper!!

these sheets were prolly 36"x36"  for +/- $30 or so.

yeah, I don't think so.  I  like the cubby idea, and mabye some speakers, but neon?   

besides, I'm not running anymore electrical in this truck except a CB, scanner, and my rock lights.

ya put in some 8" subs   and a amp

Haven't done much, fixed a broken shifter, cut a 3/8" nipple in half, cut about 2/3" of an inch off, and welded it up.    also put on some loops so I can lock myshifters together

The locking of the shifters together feature is sweet.  Who needs a security system when you got that.

Fixed a few leaks.  My t-cases were leaking out of the shifter seals, so I sealed those up, then tackled a vlave cover leak   I hate working on these motors.  PITA to get anything off without taking the whole damn thing apart.

Looking for a good place to buy a coupla clevis loops.  I don't need the hitch, just the loop itself


and a good towstrap.  the strap I have has seen much better days, and needs o be replaced.  Anyone know of a good place to pick these up for a decent price?  I was thinking of going to a large truck/trailer shop   military surplus?

Did some more looking, thinking about one of these.  Think the 2" one will be enough, or should I just go with the 4" to be safe, and shell out the extra $$  I know I don't need the big one.

Either the straight or the twist clevis, not sure what size though, gotta go measure the hole on my hitch, make sure it'll fit through
