I dont think its the oil that's dropped the flex, yea it contributed but the extra nitrogen in the shocks also play a part.

I'm going to get rid of these air shocks.

So I chatted with the owner of Rock and Roll offroad today (Curt) and i'll be headed over there in a few weeks to discuss coil options. He has a friend that builds them and quoted me a price of $380 a piece (roughly $400 after tax)  so we're looking at around $1600 for coil's all the way around... not to shabby, yet hard to justify when you've went WAY over whatever budget you had.

HOLY :pokinit:
There has to be a way to tune those air shocks correctly... :dunno:

Shamb

there is, yet a 2.0 air shock is developed for a comp buggy or something extremely light. I'm still doing research but the way things are looking these are not going to work for my application.

Tomorrow i'll be straping down all my stuff, putting on my offroad sticker and checking everything to make sure its tight.

dude dont trip on the running your truck with the rough edges, my truck is so hacked together right now but im running it anyways because I dont feel like working on it anymore at all

Shamb

had a blast at MCR5!! and meet alot of really cool people. I'll get some action shots later.

Truck performed very well until it blew out a shock. Got it "trail repaired" and cruised it out...

Ramrod

dude whats up?  I came in late thursday and saw your truck but it looked like you were sleeping on your trailor or something so I left and then the next day I caught up to you at the sluice but you took off just as I got there so I didnt get to check it out but it looked cool at least

Shamb

I looked for you the entire trip, ask Brad... lol..

I asked around and heard you were up at the KOA, we didn't hit trail until around 8 or 9.. I figured you'd be cruising down before then. Me and Amber slept in the Tahoe the first night and everyone else was on the trailer, we stopped at LS for over an hour because John's battery was grounding out and about ready to explode. Only one buggy w/ 4 wheel steer made it through LS.

I'll have the rig up and running probably by next weekend. Maybe we could plan a trip up to Fordyce or something.

Shamb

Nah, we got maybe 1/4 mile past where we camped and Johns shackles inverted on a really bad spot so it took us close to 2 1/2 hours to get them fixed.. after that his girl was getting sick and everyone was pretty exhausted so we decided to cruise back.

nothing new, in the shop getting some parts warrantied that broke on the con like the valve on the shock and the hydro ram.  Going to re-valve the hydraulic pump so it doesnt whine so much and recalibrate these air shocks. Try and fine tune them to get everything set up correctly.

Plan on buying some coilovers by the end of this year for the front.

So i've got this crazy idea.........

I'll me installing a new stereo soon and want to mount some exterior speakers that are either water proof and will never be taken off OR something that will easly slip into place when needed and disconnect when not in use.  I'm also thinking about installing a strobe light all the way in the back in the space between the rear of the exo and the fuel cell. What do you all think?

Anyone have any input or pictures of exterior speak setups and/or strobe light installs??

just get some wakeboard boat speakers that are ment for the tower

sloyota

tower speakers from a boat will work perfect..there were a couple of rigs at MCR5 that had those and were pretty loud..
I'm not responsable for my own action's.

Shamb

That's what I was thinking to but from what i've heard these are really expensive...

It would just be cool to be able to crank up the music and have a strobe going at camp or night wheeling

Hey bro I have some MTX Audio 10's in Q-logic pick up style boxes that I am certain would fit behind you seats. If you want em you can have for ...  a set of 63 inch springs.

I drownd my amp in the old Ford though, it was a 600w and they hit plenty hard.

Shamb

nah I dont want to put a speaker box behind the seat because that space gets utilized when we're on the trail. I usually keep my oil and misc other crap back there... snack food.. ect..

I gave those Chevy springs away already, LOL.. ask Zack.

Shamb, if I remember right, crutchfield has some boat speakers, not the tower speakers, but just some waterproof 6"s, or 6x9"s  :dunno:  you could check around at some boat shops too   I know they're cheaper than the tower speakers.

shamb you running any sway bars?? Hows body roll so far? I'm not concerned about road only wondering on the trail.

Shamb

im in the process of installing a rear sway bar, body rolls bad on off camber situations because the truck wants to lean alot but other then that its not to bad. Once I get that rear sway bar on it will help alot w/ body roll and will keep it from wanting to lean.

havn't posted on the truck in awhile because i've been getting ready for a wedding...

truck's pretty much on hold until I get back on Oct 30th.

going to be installing a rockstomper MC as well.
