Curt mounted the steering this week, should have it all welded up and ready to go soon!

Can't wait to get it home, or DRIVE IT for that matter.

First thing on the list when we get it home is sand the cab and clean the cage, sand it with self ageing primer and start mounting the fuel cell.

And YES I am pulling off that lower link and shock absorber... I just havn't beat it off yet, we joked around about leaving it for a ramming rocks with.. lol...

Curious as to whether I should cut off the lower portion of the knuckle that holds that link in place.. I need to take a look at some pic's, get some ideas.

That is sweet.  i have seen those lower mounts on the nuckles hit rocks before but i haven't seen tomany people cut them off.  you would think it would be better to have it off.  Are you goung to gusset that front truss more?  Snohman's was 3 mounts too and his bent/ripped the housing.

yea definently going to plate the rear and front supports. It'll all be one big ass weld lol, I remember snohmans carnage from JV... nasty!

hey do you have gears yet?? I have some 4.56's if you want I'll sell them to you since I'm going with a rear 60 now as well.  I have a detriot for the 14b as well.  Just let me know.  I don't really want to take apart my 14b but I would if you wanted the gears.

PM me what you want for that detroit, i'm going to be running 5.38's or 5.86/5.89 gears in those axles. Glad to hear your getting some progress on your buggy build. My truck will be home this weekend. The hydro is almost completely mounted and the rear t-case needs to be plugged.. after that i'll move on to the next phase which is paint and fuel cell/lines.

thanks I was a little confused there for a minute.  have you seen how much those 14b gears are.  Its outragious. thats one of the reasons I'm going with a 60 in the rear now.  I got my 60 gears for $150 for 5.38's.  The quote I got for my 14b was $350.  That is stupid that the 14b are so expensive. 

btw I'll let you know about the detroit soon.  Oh I have a posi for the 60 to of you don't have a locker yet.  At the moment I'm tryign to sell my 14b as a complete assembly before I part it out.  I think that I'll get just as much for it if I just part it out though because the housing are cheap to find.

oh and did you upgrade your front axle shafts?  I ended up going with Yukons and bobby long joints.

Got 35 splines sitting at Curts shop, just havn't paid for them yet... i'll probably end up going CTM u-joints.. the new OX's are some serious beef but I doubt i'll bust a CTM..

Comes home on Monday, then I gotta start digging into my pocket again for a fuel cell, lines, paint and a rear driveline. This way I can atleast drive it.. Also got some misc cleaning to do.. axles.. ect ect.

It's coming along, working in the 115 degree heat doesn't give me much motivation to get out of my house, let alone WORK on anything. Buttttttt.... if I want to see this thing rolling down MCR5 then I gotta get to work reguardless of how hot it is!

Updates:

cleaned the front and rear axle and rattle canned them so they're nice and black now.. also got some paint over those welds so they dont rust.

Tomorrow i'll be ordering all the parts I need to finish this thing!!

List includes

5.38's for the 14 bolt and Dana 60 (yes they make 5.38's for a 14 bolt now!)
detroit for the front, rear will be welded
35 spline stub shafts, treated u-joints and 35 spline warn hubs.
front drive line w/ long slip
lines and mounting hardware for the fuel cell
Brake lines
Small misc engine items that need to be changed, like grinding down the fan blades a little so they dont hit the nut that holds the pump on for the hydro and theres another pulled thats stripped that i'll be changing out.
Also need all the metal/tube for mounting and plating everything.
I already bought the paint yesterday so it'll be getting a fresh coat of paint and the blue flames will be returning on Sunday morning.

I will also be selling these 16.5" rims and 40's for some 15" rims with a 3" offset w/ beadlocks and 42" tsl's

I'm waiting for Rudy to email me the pics of the truck being prep'd so I can do it in order. I mounted the fuel cell today and did the flames on the hood.

Also order ALL the parts I need to finish the truck, can't wait to get it all together.
