put the hood on today, and got the 35 spline stub shafts ready to slap in (installed u-joints half way). Not going to put them in until the lockers and gears go in so I only have to pull the shafts once.

Gears and lockers should be in on Friday.

Started mounting the brake lines and fuel lines today. Got about half way, couldn't finish because I didn't have my calipers with me..

Need to get new rotors as well because the D60's are shot.

Tomorrow the diff's will be tore into.. should be geared and locked F/R by Friday afternoon

I need a open carrier or locker for that 14 bolt ASAP. Just found out its a stock posi rear end and I can't do anything with it.. so im stuck right now.

Update,

Locker and gears are in on the front, started putting the 35 spline stub shafts on and ran into a problem with the snap rings so i'm going to have to either beat the u joints back out and grove the inner axles or just run C clips... i'm leaning twords C clips right now.

Also have the rotors being turned and the knuckles are being rebuilt. Should have the front end slapped all together by tomorrow afternoon. Then I just have to wait for the locker in the rear to show up so I can start on the rear end.

After that all I need to do is run about 3' of fuel line to hook all that up, then run the lines from the center of the axle to the calapers in the front and same in the back.

What kind of axle shafts are you running? Its commin along rather nicely, keep it up

stock inners and cryo'd 35 spline stub shafts on a cryo treated spicer u joint.


We'll see they work out.. if I have trouble i'll upgrade in the future.. I just want to get this thing on the trail

On the front axle, just run the c-clips and tack the u-joint to the shafts. That's how I did mine. Guys have been doing it like that for years and no spun caps.

Got the locker in the mail today (big thanks to Gotrocks!)  should have it in by tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully bringing it home tomorrow to start the fuel lines and brake lines.

glad ot hear that I was wondering if it showed up today.  Bad news on my end. I don't think my rock buggy will be done in time but I have been frantically working on my runner and plan on having that at the roundup with a little facelift.  I think I'm going to sneak my krawlers underneath it and if it happens I'll have an exo cage by then.  I've been working on the interior cage.  I have to admit bending tube it a lot harder than I thought it'd be.  So since I won't have my rock buggy you better take me for a ride in your truck when I see it.  Do you have any updated pics that you can post??

This is kind of an old pic but I havn't got any updated one's yet. It has a hood on now w/ the flame job back on (new and improved!) also have the fuel cell mounted all the way in the back and a few misc little things.

Have my tires on by Tuesday (hopefully)

Beadlocks and tires got put together on Thursday but 2 tires were leaking so they had to be tore down to be re-done. Got the front driveline on, front brakes are hooked up, rear brakelines are ran but not connected yet..same with the fuel lines. Started crossbracing the rearend yesterday so I should have it plated by the end of this weekend. Got a piece of stainless to plate the back w/ for free.

Once the beds finished I can mount the fuel and brake lines. I'll get some pictures when the new tires are on. Havn't had time to even get on the internet.. working from 7-5 then working on the truck until 10 every night.

we need to get that piece of stainless in the bed and Rudy has the plasma cutter so don't break it, its all we got, me and Rudy are going to make a tranny crossmember for the runner out of tubes this week.

thanks for the shots John, here are a few of it just sitting. Got the rear end plated, mounted the fuel cell.. got the lines ran "temporarly" and the brake lines are all hooked up but I have no brakes yet so I gotta take care of that tomorrow.. just got a few small things to do and it'll be ready!

still needs lights, brakes, rear end tore apart and gone through, interior done, lights for night runs, a few paint touch ups...  just little things
