It looks like the trailer could use some custom deck extensions on the sides.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

notajeep

How long are your coilovers and what rate springs did you end up with?
You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.

iNfErNaL

Looks sick Shamb  .So what's the deal, you keepin' it?.Keep that thing on the trailer and bring it down to the Hammers at the end of the month!!!!!.

just to let you know how my shocks are setup.

The rears have I believe 240 PSI with I believe 1 syringe of oil and the fronts have 300 PSI and the maximum amount of oil.   I don't know if that helps at all.  Do you know what you have in the rears so far?

gotrocks

Oh and your not filling them when there's weight on them right?  They need to be completely extended when you charge them.

Shamb

alwaysbroken - I thought about the trailer extensions, just havn't had time to build them... its cruised to the Con and Fordyce numerous times thus far  :crossed:

notajeep - They're 16" Fox coilovers with a 250 lower spring / 200 upper spring and a tendercoil.

Infernal - Yea i'm keeping it, i'd love to do the Hammers for the Jambo but my buddies getting married and i'm his best man.. so we'll be going to Vegas for the bachelor party... besides that we're having to plan all this shiz out.. got me kinda busy right now

gotrocks - I have 275psi in the rear right now and I honestly have no clue how much oil. There's alot in there though.. I didn't have any good measuring device so I'd say.. hmm.. probably 10 FL oz.  however many CC's that add's up to.

so i'll be looking at mounting some coilovers in the rear come early/mid June. I'm toying with how I should go about mounting them without spending alot of money re-working the tube. As you can tell in some of the pictures where the airshock sits now this will create a problem because the half-moon tube doesn't have alot of room between the airshock. I'm thinking about just cutting and rewelding the tabs angled a bit more downward.

This will give me the room I need but will raise the rear end up a little bit, I suppose I can adjust ride heigth with the coilover. I'm just hoping it doesn't stiffen the ride too much...

Anyone running coils on a similar design?   what spring rates are you running?  I'll be giving Dave at Poly a call when it comes time to buy but just wondering what your opinions are?

I'll try and get some more detailed pictures but you should be able to get an idea by all the pictures provided.

Thanks,
Shamb

Where's that video of flopping your rig.  I finally got my video up on my buildup thread.  Go check it out.

What day are you planning on showing up for the roundup?  I'm hoping to wheel the whole week before.  At least thats the plan right now.  We need to get a group together to do some serious wheeling.

toynorcal

Got to see the video on Zack's phone cam bro. That thing is even more stable then I think any of us had thought! I won't spoil the video, but Good stuff.

*EDIT* - Hey man, roll by Rudy's shop on Thursday if you have a chance. Be good to chatch up over a beer or two.

I have no clue where the video is, havn't talked to Zack and he hasn't pulled it off his phone onto the comp yet. We're planning on being at Loon lake around noonish on Thursday (if everything goes to plan)  that'll give us time to get everything setup and ready to go early Friday morning.. or maybe just do a night run Thursday night... those are always fun.

If your serious about staying down for awhile i'll request more time off and we can his Fordyce as well..

John, glad to see your back. I went over to Rudy's on Sunday, he said you were back. I'm sure its nice to be back home... i'll call Rudy on Thursday and see what you guys are up too. Depends on how work goes

I'll let you know.  I have a buddy who would most likely be with me down there with his sweet cruiser on 42's.  Both of our ladies might not be down with wheeling for a week but I'll let you know hopefully soon so you can request some time off.  Its going to be my last run and only run probably this summer until Thanksgiving most likely and then we're headed down to Moab for a week.  My wifes grandparents live in Cortez Co. (only 30 mins from Farmington NM and 1 1/2 from Moab)  and so I gotta start saving up for gas money for both trips.

Shamb

Coil's will be on the rear in the near future, shooting for mid June.

Also plan's include MC upgrade and 4-5pt harnesses.

Going to PC this weekend, i'll get some pictures up.

For those of you going coilovers, you obviously need to know the weight of the rig so that you can determine spring rate for your coilovers.

What are you guys doing to get the weight?   I've thought about going to the local dump yard and seeing if I can get the truck on the scales but the guys an :moon: and might say no...

any idea's?   suggestions?

Are there any farming type scales in your area? It may be a bit of a drive but you could search your local yellow pages for a trucking company and ask them how they wheigh and then see about getting your truck on the scales.

4. Just routine maintenance... clean up... thinking about getting a new windshield... if not then i'll just kick it out for the time being... we'll see

Sept's coming quick and I wanna have this thing ready for the 4th. Plan on doing a Con run

still waiting for the coil's, should be here soon.

Today I put my half doors on (that time of year!)

and re mounted my CB and amp, last flop tore everything loose. Cleaned up the front a bit, had a few rusty spots so I sanded 'em down and shot some paint so hopefully it doesn't happen again... just little stuff..

Coilovers should be here sometime this week, then i'll be mounting them and my new limit chain to the front and back. Maybe do a few mounts for the CB ant and stereo... i'm also planning on installing a new stereo.. maybe some exterior speakers  :dunno:

Installed coilovers on the rear today, it feels 100% better. I love not having any body roll and the truck feeling STABLE again. Took it out back and just tested it while flexed to make sure nothing rubbed. Everything looks okay so next on the list is 5 pt harnesses for safety and I need to weld on some new limit chains.

I'm planning on a run to the Con for the 4th (probably the weekend before or after)

Everyone around here is either broke down or tore apart. As far as I know i'll be heading up alone, i'm sure there will be a ton of people up there though.

I' didn't get a chance to take pictures (forgot the camera

But i'll get some up soon.

Nice man I hope this works out better for you this time.  I don't understand why you had so many problems with your airshocks.  I still hope we get to wheel together sometime this summer.  I'll let you know when I'm headed down that way.

I might be hitting the Con or Fordyce for the 4th, let me know if you go and maybe we can roll together.  I know a couple other people from Chico might be going to Fordyce.
