Since Stocker posted the wolf hybrid, I'll share another.  Not my dog here.  He belongs to one of our mechanics and gets to hang out at work with him more often than not.  Apparently the dog even goes along on used car test drives  :driving:

The mechanic came to the back counter to pick up some parts yesterday and I didn't know the dog was with him until he popped up on the counter and started talking to me.  I'm still not used to that after the last dog encounter I had at work  :sheerterror:  This one seems pretty easy to get along with though.

The third picture is of a real old mixed breed junkyard dog I saw last week.  Looks pretty good for its age but definately gray in the muzzle and long in the tooth.  Big sucker though!

Stocker

Nice looking animal, and it's a good thing he's mellow -- wouldn't do to have an aggressive version of that!!
And yeah, I can see where the 'surprise' factor could be a bit startling...

Nice old Chevy, too!  About a '69- '70, I'd guess?
My goal in life is to be as a good a person as my dog already thinks I am.

Nice looking critter

That "junkyard dog" is awesome!!

A bit before my time, but was that production rig, or is that a homebrew setup?  Looks cool!

Malamute, German Shepherd, and Timber Wolf.    :yesnod:

I am by no means an expert but I did a ton of research on wolf hybreds before I got my last dog and from what I was told if you breed 1 generation of German Shepherd/Pure Wolf and then breed its offspring with a German Shepherd/Husky or Malamute it you will breed out the hunging/roaming instinct that wolves have without losing the look and size.   In the end I chose a German Shepherd because my state requires special permits to posses an animal that has any wolf in it at all.  They are extremely protective and almost too "clingy" (because he won't leave my side when I'm at home) but he's been great.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

that one looks  to be  stock,  probably  a old  utilty service truck

you should see the "spreader" trucks  they have around here,  basically  the  newer version of  that  truck  small CAT diesels  and  40 inch AG tires up front,  and  60's  in the  back that are about  40 inches wide,   they are  used  to "spread" fertilizer over the fields  so they have the huge flotation  ag tires  :eyebrow:

Interesting info, and I don't have the full background on our pup.  Glad to hear your shepherd is working out well for you!

Yesterday at the dog park Rufus, the 140+ lb rott, was playing with a mini beagle and managed to run into me.  Now I have a sore knee.  The little dog turned on a dime and my dog happened to change directions right next to me at full speed.  It's funny to watch him play with really small dogs.  Yesterday was the first time I've noticed him being aware of his feet and trying to not step on the little ones, he's growing up.

So today we went to visit my wife's grandmother in the convalescent home where today was her first day there.  :sad2:  She is at the beginning of some troubled health. Granted she's 94 so some reduction in good health might be expected. Nonetheless, we called ahead to find out if we could bring our little critter, Angel.  (don't let the name fool ya  :gap:)

We didn't get 5ft from the door and there were all these elderly folks who just adored her the second they saw her. They gave her so much attention it was rather nice to watch their expressions as we stopped to say hi.

Normally, I would have been rather uncomfortable in this situation (chilhood trauma, long story  :screwy:) I guess it's the somber nature of such a place knowing what could be in store for some of the less fortunate ones there. Or maybe it's the understanding that someday that could be me, old and alone in such a place  :shudder:. Or maybe it's just my imagination  :dunno:.

Either way it made me feel good to see the joy in their faces by having brought her there. I'm kinda looking forward to visiting again even if it is an hour away.  ;)

Here she is...

That is really sweet! She's a little cutie and you made the day of many people. :smooch:

It was her who made their day and them who made mine.   Despite the fact that I got a screw in one of my brand new tires on my Tahoe and that it also got door dinged rather badly all in the same day.  :wall:  :maddest:

Thanks! She is my baby along with our two cats (the boys).  That is my most favoritest picture of her in her dog house.   It's funny that I took that pic with my cell phone and how good it seems to have come out.  :gap:

OK some of you know my aversion to my mother-in-law's cats, but she got a new one over the weekend to replace the one that keeled over shortly after we moved in, and for some reason the little :pokinit: has really taken to me!  Imagine my horror!  haha.  I will not admit to liking this cat  :gap:  but I will post a pic of it in the pets thread.

RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:
