they can eat them, but cant crap them out!! lol  wow that is a crazy story.  its good to hear he is ok though.  its also great you didnt have to make the decision to spend 3500 bucks on him!

:werd: its amazing what dogs will eat.  On Max's first roundup, he was eating all sorts of stuff, pretty much everything except his food.  :shake:  Thankfully he didn't suffer any ill effects, but I will say he's never eaten another pine cone.

46&2

My new pets as of a couple days ago. 3 Madagascar tiger stripe hissing cockroaches. 2 females, 1 male. Not as large as the Giant hissing roaches, also from Madagascar, which I used to raise when I was a kid. These won't get much larger than this though the giants can get twice as large as my big male. These weigh in almost as heavy as that bic lighter.

A female

Female & male

The male

Nope. They are incredibly slow, flightless, and so clumsy and loud (they will scare themselves and hiss regularly so even if you were to lose one, you'd hear it eventually because they startle themselves often :P) that escape is near impossible. They probably could bite you but their defense is to hiss, not to bite. In my 6 or so years raising the giant ones I was never bitten once. I just dont think they've got it in em. :)
