whats the current suspension setup?
Well bought the truck the way it sits pretty much right now except the drivetrain. needed a more reliable 22r. All the Suspension is a old school 4" Downey Offroad "extreme travel" kit.. Downey Cage, Downey rear disk brake brackets, downey front bumper, Downey Header. Only thing on it thats Marlin is the dual cases. and those are MC05's!!! funny cause it has the Advance Adapters symbol on the case.   i'm thinkin when it was built there wasn't too many companies out there making stuff for toyota.  Still does a great job for the amount of money invested in it. just got some 63" springs for the back. so just need to save $$$
Let's put a smile on that face!

oh damn!  your dad has a sweet rig!   thats the most sexy first gen I have ever seen!

You should see this thing in person... its the cleanest rig on the entire trail...ever. Its 100% brand new looking. New bolts, frame is painted and wet sanded (i think).... all new windows, window trim, interior, 3rd gen dash, 22re. Its so sweet.
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

Lowerd96, Great job. I know what you've been through, as I also did a 22re swap and went through CA. smog check. My first gen is RED, posted by my son (slabcs), on page 13 of this thread. First Gens Rock!!!

lowerd96

Thanks for the compliments fellas! It's been a slow swap that's for sure, just a few hours at a time after work, but it's coming out the way I want it too, and it's almost done...

I just have exhaust to finish up and get a rear drive shaft built, and it should be ready for a test drive!

Then the fun stuff like a bed bob, F/R bumpers, etc...

This thread has been a good motivator, seeing all these 1st gen's is pushing me to get mine back on the road!
