OMG nice truck. i love what you did to it. how much did that all coast ? & any image of it on some rocks or even dirty ? thats one hell of a truck you got there. whats next for this massive truck ?

no images of it dirty because i haven't got to take it out yet.  i hope that in about 3 weeks i should be able to take it out.  right now it is back apart putting long travel springs on it.  i would say that i have 3-4 grand into it with buying the truck.  next is to take it out and wheel it.

so i changed my springs to long travel so i had to move my hangers so my nerf bars had to get cut off.  so out came the kinkmaster 5000 plus and i made these

well i mounted my sliders, mounted my seat belts, mounted my shock hoops in the front and mounted my shocks in the rear, made a new front driveline.  i think that i am going to take it to slickrock at the end of the month.  my brother wants to go camp at alpine so i think i will make him bring his truck

i wouldnt be worried about sooty black, but shocks heat up, and if you heat it up with the exhuast gasses, that shocks internal oil is going to break down and kill the shcok..... that would be my concern, sooty is cosmetic (for the most part, unless the soot gets on the rod and scratches or pits it), oil breakdown is mechanical

ya i was going to put a turn down on it anyways.  not that i care if it gets sooty.  i just rattle can stuff before i put it on so it looks good.  it's not expensive and all it takes is an extra 20 minutes

I reed to know how exactly to get the measurements for the amount of inches u bobbed ur bed and where you narrowed it how wide it was at the back and the dimensions of ur rear bumper i absolutely love ur build i wish my build was as sweet

i shortened it 17"  i basically cut just inside of the rear brake/light housing measured back 17 and used a long straight edge and cut there then stitched the end back up.  i left enough frame to put on long travel springs and then cut the rest off.  the truck is up at my parents house on a trailer so i will get you some of the other measurements this weekend.  but it is basically 16" narrower in the rear.

thanks  but i think i might have an issue.  it looks as though my new front hanger might not be far enough forward and my shackles are going to hit my body mounts.  i am going out this weekend and i will find out.  any solutions to this without cutting the hanger off and welding it farther forward?

mom,dad, brother & his girlfriend were camping at lake alpine so i decided that i would take up my truck and take it on one of the old road below bear valley to see what needs to be fixed.  i overheated it because my fan shroud was hitting my clutch fan when it was trying to engage so it wasn't engaging and got hot.  so we cut off the shroud and it stayed in a good operating range for the rest of the time.  37's are rubbing a little in the back of the fenders ripped out the plastic part.  beside that it was a lot of fun and spent the rest of the day kayaking at the lake.

yup first time it hasn't seen the inside of  my garage in about 7 months.  i was happy, i got some issues to work out but for the most part i was happy with the way it performed.

went out to local off-road park/dirtbike park with  duffil and brokeoakie and sine80.  right off the get go mike (sine80) broke his rear drive line.  so he ended up leaving and the the rest of us tooled around for a while.  didn't over heat so that was good but on the way back to the trailer i stuffed my tire into the back of my drivers fenderwell and broke a ringed lonfield.  so this week i moved my crossmember forward and tore apart my axle.  going to replace the welded third in the front with a lockrite third and put in my 27 slpine longs

made it through the rubicon last weekend.  went in on loon side and came out on the tahoe side.  wheeled from a little past the slabs to the springs in the dark.  made it with only minimal damage.  i broke my centering pin on my springs, and i put a dent in my cab.  also did some more custom sipping on my tire from the fenders.  before next years roundup i want to dove nose it, make a little wider stance, tub my fenderwells, and put in efi.  i won an efi wiring harnes from offroad solutions in the raffle.

i went in with a great group and would be more than happy to go with them again next year.  plus i think blingn and me will be hitting the slopes this winter

matt says he wants to do a run to barret lake at the end of september.  i just ordered all my stuff to do my hydro assist steering so hopefully i can have that installed before then.
