finally put my bumper on and welded "rock sliders" aka tube steps on.  got an 86 rear axles with 5.29's and a spool and some spacers for the front.

cool bumper! what did you use to bend it?

 greenlee chicago bender.  it is used for bending electrical conduit.  i borrowed it from work.  as long as you go slow it doesn't kink

i'm sure i will eventually have to cut the steps off and put real sliders on but the didn't cost me anything so i just plated them and then welded them to my frame.  i plan on putting a few braces in the middle for extra support

i like being an electrician.  right now i am working at a 500,000sq ft kohl's distribution wharehouse.  this thing is huge.  the pay is decent for the valley.  journeyman scale it 31.50 hr plus full benefits.  if you go to the bay the scale goes all the way up to 52 and hour.  i actually have a degree in agricultural sciences but i make more money being and electrician

I busted out a few old Peterson 4x4 mags, and found an article on the weld on kit like you have.  I think I am going to do the same.

don't know who made the beadlocks. i went to pick up some dash parts from a guy and he asked if i needed beadlocks.  i asked how much and he told me 150 for 4 rims and six rings so i went to the gas station and got some money.  the only thing is they are 16 inch so i have to get different tires.  but hey it's only money the stuff groes on trees ya know

mounted up some old tires for now and started rebuilding my axle.  this thing needed it too it is a piece of junk.  but hey the driverside birf is a longfield.  passenger is stock

Definately a unique truck, haven't seen one on here like it so far. Dovetail is awesome, thinking about doing mine instead of tubing the whole rear. Keep it comin man. . .

Can you give us some more tech on the dovetail, like where exactly you cut and what the costs were???

the dovetail really doesn't cost any money just time.  the only things that i spent money on was the laser level which was $10 from ghetto mart (walmart the one by my house is really ghetto).  it is one that you use to hang pictures projects a straight line. and some sawzall and jigsaw blades.
   
   First i took and screwed the lazer into my garage roof with one screw (so i could pivot it), then i shot a lazer line up the inside of the bed pretty close to the bed rails.  turned off the lights and traced it with a pen.  then i made a mark 8" in toward the center in the back and then pivoted the lazer so that it crossed my mark in the back and my other line in the front.  i then traced this line.  it makes a triangle.  then you cut, pull it back together and weld it.  the first side is a pain but the second side once you figure out what your doing is alot easier.  you have to disconnect your filler tube for your tank because it stops the bed from pulling in.

got my axle all back together put on my ps box for my high steer and finished hooking it up.  started working 5 10's and an 8 so i should have the money for my duals in a couple weeks

ya it's a smittybuilt.  i took and cut the lower bar off at the center section and then used the lower piece and cut it up and then welded it back up at an angle.  pretty simple just took a while of cutting and test fitting to see what looked best
