ya i have had a lot of lifted trucks. most of them were 70's model chevy's this will be my 2nd 83 toyota.  i rolled the first one on highway 108 up by sonora.  i was going to lift my diesel but then decided that i would build something so that when it breaks i can put it back on a trailer and fix it later.  I hate fixing vehicles at midnight so that i can get to work the next day.

cool truck! if you can post a pic of those half doors i am intrested in how you made them?

so i stripped all the interior and painted it with duraliner.  Truck bed liner in a spray can.  then i started on the interior cage.  as far a s my half doors go i haven't even touched them in forever so they pretty much look the same.  the only thing that i did was skin the inside with some stainless.  i still have to figure out a way to cap them.

Ramrod

did you make that cage?

snowshoebrue

i made part of it.  it started as an old downey off-road  then i added the bars is the back to attach my harness to.  i plan to bend a dash bar and more bracing

hammerdown

wow man, it is coming along really nicely. you have many good skills in building such a vehicle. I like it!

Is it just me or is there no gas pedal in the picture do you have hand controls or something or was the pedal just missing any was i really enjoy following the progress on your truck keep up the exellent work your a damn good fabricator

snowshoebrue

no your right there is no gas pedal.  i took it off so that i could get the mud and gunk of the floor before i sprayed the liner on.

dune_it86

love the truck what was the most rewarding mod you have made so far

snowshoebrue

i don't know if i have a favorite i like the dovetail it make it kinda unique.  the 37's and beadlocks are definately cool also.

i got the duals all ready to go in.  hopefully i will be able to start on them next weekend.  gonna put a new clutch in while i have it torn apart.

snowshoebrue

haven't posted anything in a while so i figured i should.  since last time i got my duals in, put in new clutch, made diamond plate dash and center hump to cover holes from duals.  shortened rear driveline, finished welding my cage inside and bed, made some brackets and bolted in my seats.  i also herculinered my bed.
this is what my dash looks like.  cd player still needs to be hooked up.  i also bought an 18ft dargo trailer

bled my brakes finally so i drove it out of the garage and washed the inch of dust off of it.  ordered my seat belts and some roll bar padding and a new proportioning valve should have them by the end of the week.

sounds like a good reason to me.  it was cheap too i bought a stage 1 kit which came with the reducer, hardener, and a gallon of paint.

yotas 4 life homie!

snowshoebrue

i'm sure everybody has "stolen" an idea from someone else at one point or another.  one person can't think up all the cool stuff all on their own.  as for the paint it is rayflex acrylic enamel.  it is made by hawthorne paint company in new jersey.  from what i understand acrylic enamel is on the lower end of the paint scale so that is what made it cheaper.
