Sure you're not thinking of the Ford Ranger with the TTB axle?

F-150's had them as well, but i don't remember a 250 having it.And besides you can see the leaf springs on that truck.

He's right. The F-150s had the TTB with coils, and the F-250s had the TTB with leaf springs. I think they were both based off of the Dana 44 though... but I am not sure.

anyone got a pic of 250 with ttb,i've honestly never seen one.

F250 come stock with solid axles front and rear. :yesnod:

F250 had a leaf sprung Dana 50 TTB. Swapping to solid axle is simple as replacing the axle and updating the steering to the F350 model. IIRC, there may be some engine crossmember interference w/o a small lift. F250 didn't get the solid axle until '99. Then it was a Dana50/60 hybrid.

F150, as stated, got the coil TTB, as did rangers until '95 (or was it '96) when they went IFS.

If you look at the pic on the passenger side, you can see the external axleshaft that TTBs have. It is kind of hidden by the steering rod (a design that only the TTBs had), and if you look closely on the driver's side you can see that it is mounted with leaf springs. It is an F-250. There is your picture.  :)

I think around 96-97 (maybe a little later) they were changed back to solid axles, but I am not sure. I know the generation after that green truck (I think its green?) had the solid axles though.

I guess it must have been '99.

Hyena

changed them when they changed the body style?

That is what I have gathered from the collective info here.
