that picture really doesnt show anything.

Today I got the radiator mounted and thats about it but since I cut my brandnew radiator with a sawzall yesterday my buddy gave me some big ass one from an 85 4runner with an auto so im using that and using the tranny cooler for my power steering cooler.  Im planning on having the truck done tomorrow

Duffil

where'd you cut it?  The tanks can be repaired pretty easy.

Ramrod

right straight through the middle across like 4 fins or whatever.  Im not worried about it this ones and upgrade as far as im concerened

Shamb

Get some better pictures up!  I wanna see this thing, you need to just strait truggy it and elimate all the sheet metal w/ tube... its more forgiving!

A couple i took today when i was there.  It is turning out pretty sick.  not done yet.  He still has to attach a couple plates and the wires/fuse boxes, get some longer radiator hoses, and mount the hood and fenders and he will be done.

I notched out the top of the firewall so the tube sits flush with the hood line and its welded all around straight to the firewall on all sides and then the plates to mount the accesories will also gusset it to the firewall and it will have the bars running to the sliders also once I get some put on

yota-tota

looks pretty cool mang

did you go with the 3rd gen rears up front after? It reminds me of a rig i seen on Pirate....IslandZuki or somthing from Guam.

Hyena

Yes he is.  His old ones bent up and the doors where hitting when opened.

Ramrod

No I didnt go with the 51"ers because I dont really need the extra flex and they would hang up alot I think.

yesterday I got the plates to the firewall to mount the fuse box, coil, ps res, ect and all attached.  I have about 2 more hours of work so i'll definitly be driving it today.  man i cant wait to get pulled over

Ramrod

it runs and drives now but I dont feel like working on it for a few days but then I will need to do a few more welds and some more tube bending and many hours cleaning up the wiring and the front should be done.  since i wont be too busy working on it for a bit i'll get some good pics tomorrow

Ramrod

here ya go, lots done and lots left

I dont really like how it looks from the side right now but I think when I get it covered it will look alot better and will also look much better when I get the wiring cleaned up and everything painted.

on side note I have driven it about 30 miles on the street like this and dont really think it is gonna work out even though ive seen 3 highway patrol I can tell they dont like it so if anyone knows of a tow rig for sale reasonably priced let me know

Yota4life

Looks MEAN! I like it, screw the po pos, drive it and see what they say once you get pulled over. Iv got tickets for everything (license plate, flaps, tail lights, bumpers, blinkers) one time i got pulled over for speeding believe it or not with a 22re and he instead gave me my 4th ticket for mud flaps and let me off easy. Everything is legal now but i dont have doors on and no side mirrors....i havent got a ticket for that yet

I flew up to a cop on a bike today doing a speed trap and he just lifted his arms up and shook his head

MR_DIY

cops look at me too.  but that's because my rig doesn't wear doors and the tires shake the whole damn truck to death.  that's why I don't drive it much.

now that you have all this extra clearance are you gonna pull a leaf or two outta the springs to drop it a bit? just an idea.  oh yeah- paint that sucker  :rofl2:

Ramrod

I was thinking of it but when I did that before my shock bottomed out all the time.  I'd like to lower it a little for sure but dont really feel like dicking with it

Ramrod

got my headlights in today and they look sick and yesterday I got my arp hub studs installed in my new wheel hub that im gonna install and cleaned up my loaner hubs and i think im ready to make the official "to do" list for mcr 5 now that I took a nice break from working im ready to get back to it Here it is:

re mount rocksliders
rewire entire front end
grind all nasty welds
return all shattered rocklights and install new ones
wire in my sub and auxillary fuse box
install new door speakers
paint front end
hood pins
paint on everything
put together front axle with new studs and hubs
oil change
build transfercase skidplate
