Blocks. I didn't want to use them. There are better choices now unless someone is cheap.

Well the parts fairy (UPS Man) has finally come to bring Me My gifts. So here they are a brand new set of Sky Offroad 3F Springs hot off the press. I also ordered their front boomerang shackles and steering box relocation kit. Whipped out My pocket knife and started the process of inventorying and checking each part.
I have not ordered a ton of parts from Sky but can say without question that the parts they offer are well made quality pieces. I placed the order Sunday night and received the items Thursday. I know Oregon to Washington is not a huge distance but that's fast. As I compared and examined the new 3F Springs I started to wonder how I would be able to tell the difference between the driver and passenger springs. I knew for a fact based on their website that the R and L spring are different. I had expected a mark or part # difference to help. I counted the leafs (both the same),I laid them side by side (same), now I started to worry. Did I get two of the same? Did They change to using the same spring on both sides similar to many of the other Spring manufacturers? Alright I just dropped close to $700. I'm going to call them, maybe the mark is small or something went wrong. I called and spoke to a very nice guy. We will call him "E"
As I don't want to broadcast his name all over the web. Basically I needed to set the springs eye Lits down to see the difference. He did mention that normally they are marked but that the 3F spring had recently been threw an update and that they might not have received the mark. He asked Me what they were going on and was excited to hear that they were destined for a Bestgen 4runner. He asked If I would be willing to send pictures of My truck to His Email.
I happily said yes. Who wouldn't love pictures of their truck on Sky's website as an example for the 3F Springs.
I didn't think much more about it and went about My day.
At about 7:15 My phone rings and shows that the call is from Oregon. My first words are "Ok what's wrong with them?"
Lol "nothing" E says. I wanted to talk to You some more about Your truck and if I could send You a T-shirt.
After about a 25 to 30 min conversation it looks like My little Bestgen really is going to be a bit of a research and feedback vehicle.
I mentioned our upcoming trip to Fordyce and the Rubicon, also the last two years of Moab trips. They are going to send Me a discount card for use on future purchases in exchange for feedback and pictures of their springs on My 4runner in action.
These are good people running a Mom and Pop style of business, if You have a choice between Sky and someone else
Don't hesitate to choose them, You won't be disappointed.

Only one side for the 3F and it's 2.5 inches I think.

From Sky
3F Spring:    We also offer a more unique spring than any production company normally carries, What we like to call the Crawler Spring! This is our 3F 2.5" lift spring. Designed after the popular rear up front ( RUF conversion ).  These springs offer little lift, move the axle forward considerably, and are longer than other production front long travel Toyota leaf springs. These springs will lift your truck 2.5 inch from stock, are 1 inch longer towards the rear than our standard springs, and have the spring pin moved 3 inch's forward of stock.
Largely popular with low-lift vehicles tucking large tires and needing more firewall clearance from rubbing.

I think this description has been recently changed? Can anyone tell Me if I am correct?

Pretty curious to see your feedback on these springs, and I will agree their parts and service are top notch.  My brother used to work for lithia toyota and dealt with him and said he's a good guy, which is rare coming from my brother

40s....yep it said something like "running 40s with little lift? Yes!" Then something about cutting the body to make it work etc.

Been eyeing these springs since Andrew mentioned going that route if starting over again on Red.

Please post your thoughts on install and final impressions.
RUF is less $ but I'm curious to see if these offer better road manners  :driving:

Sup BigBluePile,
I think everyone is to be honest. I Did "Andrew Level" research looking for any pictures or documented installation of these springs but came up with Zippo. That really made Me nervous but My girl SqWaDoosh assures Me its going to be sick as hell, I trust Him.
I take that back "E" who I spoke with at Sky has one picture and is running them on his first Gen truck.
I will try to find it at some point so the First Gen boys can see how they look on their Generation of truck.

"The front spring hanger can be installed flush with the front of the frame or offset up to 3/4" forward of the front of the frame depending on the desired shackle angle. With 4" and 5" springs we recom- mend offsetting the front hanger 3/4" forward of the front of the frame. With 3" springs we recom- mend installing the front hanger flush with the front frame crossmember."

Found this in the trail gear SAS instructions. Might explain some of what happened with the trail gear springs.

That hanger being forward was not the cause of your trail-garbage springs folly. They are just :pokinit: springs that are 2-3" taller than advertised. Stop trying to church that up.  :slap: Also told ya it would be flush
