I have no idea why he replaced his, but based on my friends experience they may have actually broken without sagging.  I just confirmed that even with a broken leaf his truck doesn't have a lean.  Chris is replacing his springs because they started sagging badly.  In Moab they seemed to get lower each day if memory serves.  It appears that some spring steel sags when they wear out and other spring steel holds it's shape until it breaks.
Just say what you were really thinking....Chinese VS MERICA STEEL!!!!!

I think Sky is USA made, which is why I don't expect them to settle that much.  I think everyone agrees that you get what you pay for with the TG springs that he's replacing.

I meant his TG vs sky. Sky is for sure American built. That's why they have such great products. For the guy that will drop the extra dime it's worth it.

I will say this tho. I spent 200$ and free shipping on my new OME RUF springs and they are holding up great and flex tons....sometimes quality can be found in a smaller dollar amount.

You're right for sure.  OME seems to be a pretty proven brand and I'd have to at least consider them if I needed to do a springs change.  The biggest issue with my Alcans is the inability to replace them with "identical" springs.  Sky or OME would be more likely to get a direct bolt in replacement.

Picture of new front suspension with Jesse's spare 37 on, plan is to set the suspension up for 37s.

Also a picture of My ruff stuff new perches, original tiny perches, and my monster blocks 4".
I loosened all the spring and shackle bolts one turn and put the left front on a 6" block over night. Sqwadoosh's suggestions.
I really would like the blocks gone. I might need to look into new 63s maybe I flattened out these ones?
Doesn't make sense to me?

My goal was get 3" to 4" lower, remove the rear blocks, improve on road handling, and setup for future 37's.

I don't understand the question. They only list one 3F Spring set available.

I would try the springs even if they cost a little bit.  It's fun to be a test mule.  If you don't like them they are a bolt on for you so you can always go back.

I don't think they are a direct bolt in for 63's. Just a spring they are trying to match with the 3f spring.
I enjoy building the trucks but have a very difficult time finding time to do it. It really puts added stress on Me to make all the other things in My life happy at the same time. I would prefer to get the truck dialed in and not touch it other than to check things out and do some maintenance. When I feel there is a needed upgrade (engine swap next) I have to really plan it out to not disrupt My other work in the garage.

Now I follow You. I can't really say for sure as they came installed on the truck.
I would guess 2 wheel drive?
I need to get a new set of 63s and give them a try.
Can anyone make a recommendation of what year and size truck to get them from. toyodaaddict?
You seem to have the most experience with them. Point Me in a good direction. 3/4 ton 4x4?
What kind of shackle angle do You have with the 63s You have setup?

They would be wise to make a drop in upgrade for 63s since that's what so many perspective customers are set up for.  That's kind of what they have done with the RUF replacements so it would make sense.

I know several people that run a Chevy lift spring in the rear or an add a leaf with great results

That's a pretty hefty shackle angle with no break in time on the springs yet. I would definitely move your hanger forward. Just my  :twocents:

I used that as a guide. I think I found a 94 2wd with the axle and gas tank already pulled so we just grabbed those ones. The dude who set the shackle angle was going to match ride height, so they're pretty vertical. gives me retarded amounts of up travel I guess. I like the chevs but since I don't plan on going bigger than 33, and certainly not bigger than 35 I might switch for f-150 rears.

I did talk to Him about this the very first time We spoke. I was interested in buying a set if they offered a match for the 3F spring. E said that at this time it doesn't make sense as anyone planning a 63 swap can go to the wrecking yard (full of dead Chevy trucks) and pick up a set for less than $100. Hard to compete with that price point. Instead they offer a full line of 63 installation kits and are experimenting with this secret test spring. I am tempted to Email Him just to get more information but don't want to waist His time. I have decided to stick with the 63s based on toyodaaddict's information and the fact that they just work great. Plus direct replacements are located at every wrecking yard for $100, hard to beat.

boomerang shackle is 5 1/2 and I am still using My original hanger. It is welded flush with the front frame so zero forward.

The rear shackle is 6" eye to eye, Perfect angle. They came on the truck but yes it has different than stock front hangers.

You could easily add 2 inches of shackle and play with the hanger and get an inch of lift helping the case to ditch the rear block

You are going to limit your up travel with an angle like that. The springs will be flat or you will run out of shackle before you get any good up travel. And when you limit it like that you will gain body roll due to the limited up travel. Just what I'm gathering from what I see. Are you HP diff in the front?

Negative arching the spring will destroy them. My bump stops were set for a flat spring and my shackles were way laid back. Rig was super stable
