JB custom fabrication shifter boot ring and floor plate came in.
Very happy with the products so far. Fits the twin stick boot that came with the FROR shifter nicely.

Made some good progress today. I love working on My 4Runner at work in my bay. So much easier than at home.
Installed Marlin 4.7 rear transfer case (21 spline). It's been sitting on my work bench for months waiting patiently.
Installed My FROR twin sticks. Oh boy I have lots of shifters now. Haha, it's going to take a bit of getting used to.
I never even thought about what shifter did what before today.
Installed the heavy duty shift springs into crawl box and rear transfer case. Wow what a difference they make. A real must have item for every truck.
Drained and serviced the fluid in both transfer cases. Out with the redline and refilled with Walmart 80/90 for brake in/ flush.
Found the cause of My inoperative speedometer. Pictures to come tomorrow but, yep it was in the transfer case.
Drained the redline out of the transmission and added some cheap 75/90 as a flush. Zero metal shavings on the drain plug. This is the first trans service since I rebuilt it a few years ago. Very good sign
I swapped the transmission shifter tension pins right to left. Following the picture in the service manual is incorrect in this case. I knew I had it wrong when I first test drove the transmission after rebuilding, but just never bothered to fix it until today. Shifts much easier now that I'm not fighting reverse gear shifter tension to shift to second.
I need to build armor for My fuel tank. Not sure if it's smashed but the skid plate sure is.
Next items to do
#1 valve adjustment and new v/c gasket
#2 seal up the hole in the floor for the second transfer case
#3 order up the FROR ifs hub brake mounting kit
#4 rotate the rear axle for correct pinion orientation to transfer case output
Question for everyone. What is the weak link in my drive train now. I know adding the 4.7s in the rear case has increased the potential to break something. Just want to know what it is, so I can be prepared.

What's the lost of things you have done to the drive train
35" pro comp MT2 (8 to 12 psi depending on the trail and conditions)
22re cam header, I'm sure it make maybe 100 hp
W56 rebuilt by me 21 spline output
Stock reduction box 2.28 21 spline
Trailgear dual adapter 21 spline
Marlin 4.7 gear 21 spline transfer case built by Me
Front 5.29 Yukon reverse cut gear set with ARB air locker in a hi-pinion 8" 3rd, newest version of trailgear front axles with their hub gear set.
Rear 4cyl Yukon 5.29 gear set with v6 spartan locker in a 4cyl 3rd, stock axles
So where will it break if it does? I think the rear output shaft makes sense.

I think your front ring gear is likely to be your weak point. The dual ultimate gearing when used properly should reduce the risk of breaking parts.

Pictures of the cause on My no speedometer operation.
I have no clue what happened at this point. Still need to finish the tear down and inspection of the transfer case.
I would have to assume that something broke and a piece of debris got into the speedometer gear.
I did have the rear output seal blow out when coming back from elephant hill in Moab. Gear oil was dripping from everything under the truck. So I know it was low at that time. but I fixed it and wheeled it two or three times since then plus drove it around town. Myles was out driving it around when it just stopped working?

What a great day of Wheeling at Tahuya. First off, I want to say thank you to all the Homies that came out to make My Birthday run a kick ass adventure. Snow, mud, rocks, water, and deep holes We had it all.
All 10 trucks showed up with a bonus #11 (Brandon with His Suzuki sidekick)
I had a plan for the day of no horsing around, hit all the main obstacles then spend the second half of the day focusing on the new west loop (new most difficult area). A couple of the guys had come from great distance and I wanted them to hit as much as possible. Lost our first Jeep less than a quarter mile in. Smoking from under the hood. I investigated and found his Hi pressure p/s line had developed a hole. Under high pressure is was spraying all over.
This area has always had a nickname of "two wheelya" trails so easy you really don't need your four wheel drive. Well let Me tell you that ain't the case anymore. We have 3 rock crawling hills to tackle at the start of the trail system, much more difficult general trails and now the "West loop" with a much larger rock hill. 40" tire size recommended.
The trail going into the West loop is Gnarly, deep holes that will put you right over onto your side should You slip off.
Just about layed it over on it's side today. Felt like I was on two tires.  A slight breeze would have pushed Me over. I really need a cage! Hahaha
Serious props to Joeyf, he hit every obstacle and just about every line. Wet tires and snow on the rocks. Impressive truck and great driver skills. The only time I saw him really get serious was on the more difficult line of the new 40" tire required hill. Carson and I got some good footage so I should be able to put a video together at some point soon.
I also managed to get a flat today. Thank goodness I brought My spare. Got to have one that's for sure.
Thanks to Mark for staying with Me to make sure I was ok
I think We all ended up with a few new scratches but no significant damages on the day.

Hi Gnarly
You are absolutely correct wet makes everything more challenging, add ice and snow to the rocks and it becomes a serious challenge. I opted not to attempt any of the major rock gardens today. Save some time and help the others instead. Picked up my first winch cable cut to my right hand (ouch) while helping Mark winch up one of the rock hills.
That stuff is like a razor blade.
I know how much I crave all the info when I miss out on a run. I'm no word smith that's for sure. Just try to give some story to the adventure.
As far as the body damage. The first one hurts the most, after that it's not as bad. For Me I want to be able to do all of the trails and that requires a level of acceptance. I hate every single dent but don't want to sit on the sidelines or turn around on a trail. I will never get to the point of I don't care or anything close. I consider some of the trucks just a toy or a big quad, Asa, Mark, and Joeyf are at this point with their rigs. They also get to do the most Gnarly stuff with no
concerns or worries. I honestly think the have the most fun of anyone. :)

Joeyf and Rick has a brief conversation about the benefits and restrictions for each of their rigs. Hardcore crawler vs. capable new rig that’s at home on the highway pulling a off-road camping trailer.  There’s no perfect rig and everyone has to figure out what level of build is best for them. If I started over I would want something a little more family friendly and maybe not as aggressive. Something that could be my daily comfortably would be ideal.

Wow... great videos!!!  :booya:

Loved the action!!  I gotta give you guys credit... cold wet rocks and snow!!  Your rigs did REALLY well.  Good spotting and driving!!  I noticed bgen's tires looked to be air'd down more than the other tires.. could be just the videos.  On our snow and mud runs I was always about 4 or 5 psi.

Look's like LOTS of fun times!!  :beerchug:  And... will make a great "remember when?" around a future campfire!!

Makes me want to buy a thrasher-basher and go wheeling again!!  :gap:

Thanks for sharing that!  :dancing:

I was at 5PSI

I was at 10 psi.

Rick was at 35 psi choosing clearance over superior traction pending the need for better traction...

I had my buddy print some on his 3d for my triple stick. They match the marlin shifter that is now on my trans. You seem to really like those but if you change your mind about them I'm sure he wouldnt mind making more.
