You have a pitman arm remover that works.........

I broke about 3 or 4 or them until I gave up and got my money back from Harbor Freight...........

Got a picture of it?

I have actually had good luck with the little $35 pitman arm puller from oriellys. I have 3 ans haven't broken one yet. I've used them on everything from 1 ton gm and dodge stuff odd pieces of equipment I encounter at work. They obviously aren't as nice as the one posted above but have managed to get the job done for me so far.

Alright, starting the selection process for new front springs, shackles, and bump stops.
Goal is to run 35s and be as low as possible.
I really liked the stance that Red had.
What spring was that? Allpro I believe? 4inch?
Also I am going to need ideas for the bump stops in the front. I would like something easily adjustable if possible.
Input please  :help:

You really need to know what you're doing for a cage first to make sure that your suspension is up to the challenge.

I would strongly consider what Zippo had on his 4Runner.
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Long flat springs are ideal for flexibility, but I think I would prefer a shorter spring with some arch. I think you'd end up with less axle wrap all other things being equal.

What did zippo have that I need to look into?
At this point I am leaning heavily towards the allpro 4"

I think OME is a higher quality spring and likely where I would go if my Alcans ever fail me.

I ran OME springs, they did awesome!!! They don't require moving the mounts around on the frame and are designed for your use. Not a generic on size fits all spring. (4runner vs Truck)

I had 2.5" lift on the springs and them 6" shackles (All pro shackles). Was able to clear 35's no problem.

I ordered the correct rear springs, and two driver side front springs (They are different like the factory springs). I would 100% use them again!
If you see it, its for sale.

Why two driver's side front springs?

I just swapped my front all pros for OME RUF and they are far better built. It seems like all pro has the better rear springs from what I have found and ran. My rear all pro springs flex awesome.

Why two driver's side front springs?

So from the factory Toyota uses two different spring with different arches. This is because the passenger side spring pad is higher, because it sits somewhat into the diff pumpkin. This is why sas kits come with a single 3/8 spacer you weld to the top of the driver side spring pad. Because they want to use the same spring on both sides.

My 4runner used a A highly modified u-bolt flip kit for a fj60 axle. My pads were level and I only needed one type of spring. The driver side is just a little taller. So that is what I used.
If you see it, its for sale.

I got the CS010R med duty and pulled the bigger overload from the pack. I'm going to pull the 2nd overload to settle it a little more. You may want the CS090R leaves because I am v6 and pretty heavy and plan on exo. They pushed my axle 2" further forward in comparison to my AP springs.

No bump stops for three years might have something to do with it?  :hammer: I knew it was going to happen.
I wanted to get lower anyway, and get rid of the rear blocks before something bad happened.

I am going on ten years without Bump stops with my Alcans.

Is that ten years with shocks limiting your travel before negative arching the springs? May not be the same for best gens set-up  :driving:

The difference between the CS009R and CS010R is the longest non-wrapped leaf.

Remove the longest non-wrapped leaf from the CS010R and you have a CS009R..............

I think my shocks will limit the up travel so could be a factor.  I don't think I bottom out the shocks often as I could feel it when I was still running the Bilstiens.

Are you sure about that?   Not trying to be a richard but just wondering how you know that's the only difference.  I have the heavy duty springs front and rear (CS010R out back) and removed that leaf from each of them.  Rear end still sits way up in the air compared to the front.
