Mine was yesterday - went up the the mountains with my son. They were turning back all sorts of cars and AWD yuppie toys and my son was what about us? The guys patrolling the area to keep the idiots safe/tell them to put on chains didn't even blink an eye as my old truck went past. My son's response was "dang".
Up and back - no chains, no worries. I guess they figure if you've got an old Toyota and big ass tires on it and your transfer case, gears, and tires are making more noise than your engine, you obviously know what you're doing.
It was bad enough that Explorers and other typical SUV crap were getting stuck... lol. Could have made a small fortune if I had a winch installed.
You know you own a Toyota when you see the sign that says chains required and you go past it without blinking.
Note - up to 6000ft and back - didn't even have to put it in 4wd once. Loved my manual, btw - left it in 1st gear and went up and back literally almost bored to death while the other drivers looked like they were about to need new shorts.
Awesome scenery, though. Wish I had brought my skis...
