ya, i cut the flanges out of the old tank. you just have to be sure and align them right when you weld them back on. and i put 2 baffles in it. about 6 inches tall with 1 1/4 inch holes on the bottom to let the gas flow through still. make sure they are out of the way of the sending unit!! are you talking about the tubes for the filler? i cut the whole piece out of the old tank and welded it on the new one. but it had some aluminum sodder or something on the outside. it woulded like
