i meant injection pump, older diesels usually had a electric solenoid that cut the fuel supply to kill the engine, but had a screw to turn to keep it from cutting the fuel if the alt went bad
to run cooler poor a qt of used motor oil back into the tank, for HP use ATF in the tank
What about used gear oil, I have plenty of that.
