Updates . Got a rebuildable core for $100 from a local yard! Its a W-56 B i believe. Because the center plate is steel vs Aluminum.
Really stoked because it'll mate with a Top Shift T-case (like my trucks 1980 case)
Also! By the wild chance of it! This yard happened to have the Adapter Bellhousing for w56 to mate up with 4.3L !
From Advanced Adapters that sells for $500, I got this one for $150!
So super happy about that.
But here's some pics of the tranny's insides . Looks like I got a busted shift fork for gears 1 & 2 .
And reverse is a little chewed up. Not sure if its bad enough to require a replacement tho.
To be honest, I can't find that gear for sale anywhere anyway tho. Haha. So maybe I'll keep it
