I did all this in your neck of the woods BBP. You gotta give me your number man so I can give you a shout next time I'm on the island.

You were on the island today?  Nice!  I was in the garage all day

No. Over the weekend.

While doing all that work this weekend I further tried to find the cause of my sporadic transmission stutter and low idle when hot started issues. The first thing I did was take a level to my motor....

It appears that once again that NW Team Yota didn't know what the hell they were doing when installing the engine mounts.

It also seems I am missing a connection to my EVAP system as well. I believe this should come from the airbox.

I think I figured it out. The line normally would run to the stock air box but with my swap converted to just running a cone filter there is no port. I think I'm going to drill a hole into the tube behind the filter and run a line from there.

In other news I found out that those used All-Pro font springs I picked up a while back are not 4" but actually 5". I also ended up going with 5" in the rear because 4" were taking too long to get here. However I spoke in length with Kurtis (mudaddict on here) who was very helpful. I explained to him that my goal was to keep my frame height low and he went as far as to go measure a guy's truck running 5" front and rear so I could see roughly where I will be. The fact that I chose the low front hanger and 4" shackles for the front should make it act like 4" front and 5" rear or so the theory goes. We will see next week when it all gets put on. Heres hoping I'm not sky high  :crossed:

Yet I see no open ports on the airbox

There is a wee port on the factory airbox, right behind where the filter sits.

Yeah like I said above I'm not running the factory airbox. Hence why I am unable to find an open port. Going to have to make something custom.

I'm just confirming confirmation to confirm the confirmation......confirmed.

Here is where my PS res sits... I have no issues. I use a budbuilt x member with the U bolts.

Interesting. You should share this with LiveOak. His PS res sits like yours and he thinks that might be the cause of his issues.

I hope you are in what seems to be the majority that like the Bilstein shocks. I didn't like mine at all and actually would bottom them out when crawling slowly and dropping down ledges. I wasn't hitting them hard enough to get them to resist, I guess.

Sweet rig by the way. We will have to let our truck play together sometime.

What did you end up switching to? Rancho?

Stay away from Ranchos. The 9000s anyway.. the valves go bad and then they become non adjustable

That's interesting. I've always had good luck with the 9000's.  Only ever had to change them out for longer ones.

Yes, I run the newer Rancho 9000s and generally have them cranked up. My Alcan springs are apples and oranges to Marlin springs so that may be a significant factor.

Well hopefully the Bils will work out alright for me. Seems to be more people who recommend them than don't. I'll know next week!

I finally took the time to read through your entire build thread. Make sure it is done in time to be battle tested before your Moab trip. The trip is too big to spend your time working out bugs.

Yeah the only real issue I have at this point should be fixed with a new clutch and everything that goes with it. Will be doing duals at the same time.

My duals were a needless challenge. I had to get the rear differential rotated to get the driveline vibration ironed out. The real fun resulted from getting an adapter that wasn't machined correctly (there was a small run of them) and because mine was a daily driver I blew the case up twice to the point of having the rear wheels lock up. Both failures were just under 2,000 miles from the previous rebuild. Unfortunately, Marlin was out of adapters and I had a Moab trip scheduled so I had to go with an inchworm crawl box. My warranty adapter got sold to my friend that was doing duels soon thereafter.

Got them springs on yet?

Everything will be going on in the next couple of days. If everything goes according to plan I'll be putting them through their first trail run this weekend.  :driving:

Big day fellas. The steering and suspension overhaul I've been saving/planning for over 6 months is finally finished and on the truck.

11. High Steer (Marlin Crawler if it ever comes back in stock)

19. Replace terrible Pro Comp leaf springs (All-Pro Springs)

20. Replace unknown white shocks (Bilstein 5125)

21. Install long slip custom square driveline

Ground to frame measures about 26" as of right now however I have been told the springs should settle. The low profile front hanger with the 4" shackles plan worked out perfectly. The rear is higher right now but not by a lot. After I put on the rear tire carrier in the back later this week I think its going to sit perfectly. Here is the stance right now.

The only real issue was that my steering stabilizer I had did not work. I just put in an order from Marlin for one so I will get that put on later next week when I go to get my rear tire carrier. I also didn't get the bumps setup yet but will do that on Wednesday (I don't plan on wheeling between now and then). I have to give huge props to Cody at www.badlandbumpers.com  he put in a 22 hour day yesterday to get my truck done on time for me to pick it up today. He went above and beyond when he built my front bumper and took it to the pinnacle this time with his dedication to his customers. If you are in need of any kind of work and you live in Washington give him a call first guys. Great prices and you can not beat the customer service.
