Finally found the time to bleed the clutch today. Did the gravity first which went through 1 and half quarts of fluid before it finally stopped bubbling. Then had my club buddy do the clutch pump method. However this time I kept the surgical tube submerged in fluid to prevent air running backwards up into the slave. It feels better but the incline shudder is still there. Now to wait and see what liveoak comes up with. In other news GO HAWKS! SUPER BOWL BABY!

So I am leading my club on its first snow run of the year on Saturday. Before then I am going to try and get some diff breathers installed finally. It has been on my to do list for some time but has just been put off time and time again.  :smack: At the same time I am going to replace my transfer case oil with some Red Line, check my transmission oil level (it already has Red Line in), and check my front and rear diff oil.

You gotta love Marlin. Every order has come with "Toyota Trails" but this time he threw in "4WD Toyota Owner" too! It is an even sweeter deal because I drove to Barnes and Noble the other day with the sole purpose of getting this issue and they for some reason didn't have it!   :turtle:

Are you sure they aren't for the upper shackle bolts? Seems weird that they would send extra. Although I have gotten some pretty messed up orders from all-pro.

I talked to the guy on the phone and told him the exact amount I was given and he said that yeah I was given 4 pairs too many. We'll see when it comes time to put it all in though I suppose.

A guy in my club recently upgraded to 38s and has a set of 35" MT/Rs with hardly any miles on them he is going to sell me for $600. I'm a little on the fence though. I've read a lot of people having experiences with them not being round and being impossible to balance.

Yeah all pro is coo, but I will admit.. My first order was for the extreme lift.. I received x2 too many left hand thread tie rods... Next order was for front wheel spacers. They would not fit.. the inner diameter was waaay too small. I mean way off. Im not even sure what they would have been good for... Luckily my friend has a lathe...

So I am looking at buying a rebuilt IFS box however I've come across rebuilt FJ60 boxes that claim as such:

QuoteRebuilt FJ60/62 steering boxes. These steering boxes feature reverse cut internal gears. The pitman arm swings in front of the steering box instead of behind like the IFS style shown above. If you're moving your front axle all the way forward with links and don't want a steering box and frame hanging way out in front then consider using this box as it can be mounted behind the drag link instead of in front of it. This steering box has four mounting holes and will require custom mounting if you are using it on a Pickup/4Runner or Samurai.

Also marlin sells two different IFS box choices 86-88 and 89-95. I would love some advice from you guys on what you think is the best choice for me.

Okay did some further searching and found some more information. The main difference is that the later style has a longer steering input shaft. The input gear is roughly 1" longer as is illustrated below with the early style being on the left:

They apparently are quite different inside as well however either one will do the job when putting High Steer on an 85 like I am. The later style does have a faster turning gear ratio which means less rotations to get to full steering lock.

Still torn on whether or not to spring for the FJ60 box as it does sound appealing to not have to cut out my radiator support.

You don't want a cruiser box. It would require moving your axle forward so far that you couldn't use your new springs. They are for links only.

Thanks Nate. Don't know what I'd do without your advice brother.

I've got one on my bench right now that I'm rebuilding. If I have questions I know who to bug now.

I took most of mine apart when I tapped it for hydro assist.  There are some good write ups out there.  Hydro assist is a great mod for the money.  Except I made the mistake of getting a trail gear ram and it leaked after two months.

Didn't you buy a re-man one when you did high steer? Its already in need of a rebuild?

I've already got so many things going on that I don't really have the time to rebuild one right now. Thanks for the offer though buddy.

So I badly need to purchase a new radiator. I didn't get one for Christmas like I thought so now its time to poney up for one on my own. My question is whether or not anyone can confirm if a 2nd gen 4runner radiator will fit my 85. I originally was going to purchase the CSF 2314 found here:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CFRKS8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=L167CP1W0N0G&coliid=I3W3LKUFI4ZVP

However I found a thread of a guy who bought a different model the 2056 for his 2nd gen and it appears that it has bigger cores but is also an inch taller.

http://www.amazon.com/CSF-Toyota-4Runner-Pickup-Radiator/dp/B000CFPH2O

I also found out that griffin makes a drop in replacement for 2nd gen 4runners as well. Anyone got 600 bucks I can have?  :hammer:

I'm going to tap mine while it is apart just in case I decide to add it later. What ram did you put in it after the trail gear junk? I like the two sided design of theirs but can't bear to waste money on their crap.

I'm pretty sure a V6 radiator will fit.  I mean I went thru seven (7) radiators thru this town over four parts before I got the right one......

So my CB just stopped working. I'm suspecting grounding issues  :maddest: I guess I need to run a ground strap down to the frame.

I still havnt bought another one.  Its leaking all over my garage floor as we speak.  I figured Id go with psc just so I wouldn't have to worry about it again.  But I havn't looked into what they offer.
