The winch cable showed up today. Masterpull 5/16" x 100' 14,500lb rating and weighs less than 4 lbs even with the stainless steel thimble.

I busted the leaking bead down today and found the tire and bead perfectly clean in the spot the leak was coming from. Upon closer inspection I found a irregularity in the wheel that is allowing air to rush out. I applied a coat of bead sealer to the tire and rim but it has only slowed the leak. I'm sure that ain't gonna hold either when I air down for the trail. It does not look like the wheel can be repaired either which really makes me angry since I welded the inner ring on already. I would think twice about buying the cheap Crager wheels. I thought the workmanship looked sloppy on them since I opened the box. I guess you get what you pay for at 45$ per wheel.

Damage report

1 Caliper
1 Brake Hose
2 IFS hubs with sheared dowels and studs

Here is one of the broken hubs. The second had all the studs and both dowels busted clean off.

6 arp studs and six more 5/16 dowl pins, and drive flanges= :drooling:
Without the weak link at the outers, what will go next? That is one strong setup. If you were running a lower than stock gearset I would be worried about the r&p but with the 4.10s it should be almost unbreakable.

They are the Marlin flanges. I was gonna do the 6 pin instead of the Arp studs to save money but I wasn't thinking and ordered the hub studs when I ordered my knuckle studs. I got the box from FROR and was confused why I had hub studs until I remembered ordering them for some damn reason. Oh well I have both. I didn't want to spend the 140$ on hub gears when I could get drive flanges and take care of two birds with one stone.

You are probably stronger with the flanges than with the hub gears. Do you really think they will strip? Bobby won't warrenty if marlins flanges strip out the longs will he?

He said the drive flanges are softer than the birfield splines so stripped splines should not happen were his words when I talked to him. I think his hub gears are probably stronger. But how strong is really necessary? If the drive flanges can break, I am sure I will find out.

Thanks, they look better in person. I have made one run with the johnny joints but I don't really have an opinion yet. They seem to be working pretty well.

No. Not yet. Are you sure it isn't a suzuki axle. They look pretty much identical except for the width.

I am pretty sure that sammy was there last time and they knew about it. If you look at it, it isn't too hard to tell that there is a toyota axle in it so I am pretty sure they know. But I will check it out.

I welded them. There is a guy in town that makes rings.

How much for the rings? Do you think those wheels would work? It would be kind of cool if they did
