Got my Ruffstuff things last week and put them on this weekend. When i originally built my truck the rear axle ended up being like an inch and a half to one side. It drove fine but it always bothered me so i got new hangers from ruffstuff, cut the old hangers off and welded the new ones on, aligned this time lol and i put the 6" shackles on the back.the worts part was taking the gas tank out and putting it back in.  :blah: i like the stance better, it for sure lowered it a little. I ordered ARP knuckle studs and those should be here this week. Then make new sliders but that is super easy lol.

I got them from Low Range. They are having a free shipping sale on all Trail Gear products and ARP studs I guess are a trail gear part? I'm not sure but I got free shipping haha $208 out the door for both sides. I got my hub studs off eBay from Core West Off Road. They had them cheaper then anyone else when got mine.

Dwill817

Haven't done much to the 4Runner latley. Friday I picked up 204 feet of 1 3/4" .120" DOM for my interior cage. Gonna bend the main hoop for it in the morning, I already have my layout drawn up. Excited to finally have this thing caged!  :smokin:

I wish I could of built my own cage but I was on a time crunch and don't have a bender... Been thinking about selling my cage and building my own and just borrowing a bender from a friend.

Exo, but it will go inside the bedsides and inside the front fenders. So there won't be much showing. Just over the cab...

Time to update this thing hahah. I have a TON of pics from wheeling this summer and building my cage. First off Marlin Crawler Roundup this past weekend was awesome!!!! Hats off to Marlin, Big Mike, and the RTF for this event year after year. This was my first time going and i had a blast. Already talking about next year with my group lol. Also met up with Mike (1985CRAWLER) for the first time, he blew both 5.29 diffs this weekend  :help: lol I had my share of problems. Slashed a 39.5 irok on soup bowl as well as cracked my P/S reservoir. Got a 35" spare tire and jb welded my reservoir closed so it would hold fluid again which worked lol. made a hydro assist line too short (put my PSC hydro kit on last week and went to MRC) had the serviceable PSC fittings and spare line and made a new hydro line at camp the next morning. Then on my way to the Springs for dinner i slammed my fuel tank pretty hard and snapped the pickup tube off inside the tank  :yikes: My truck would not start at all. cut an access panel under my seat pulled the fuel pump out, cut the pickup shorter so it wasn't pinched, i had some rubber hose, hose clammed the hose onto the pickup and bam i had a new fuel pickup for the weekend. Hoped in and it fired right back up was able to wheel all the way out no problem. Besides those problems i was able to wheel around all weekend and still managed to hit some hard lines on the way out lol. wish i got more pics of the actual event at Rubicon Springs but heres what i do i have

Tapping the steering box the Saturday before we left for MCR15 lol

because i'm low and i have a 3.0 i couldn't fir my ram on top of my axle like most people do. so i put it in front of the axle like this, it worked good all weekend and i don't think i hit it. Still thinking about building some sort of armor for it.

after unloading at Loon friday night

p/s reservoir crack and the jb weld reapair lol everyone left for the springs around 8 am Saturday i satyed and fixed my truck and left around 12:30 to head to the springs.

and this is where is hit my tank and broke the pickup tube. it wouldnt start right so i got out to take a picture while i waited for my buddy to pull me down out of the way  :ha_ha:

so we pulled my truck down and i didnt want to deal with fixing it and miss the dinner so i left it and walked to Rubicon Springs, as we were grabbing my backpack of stuff out of my truck my friends Shae and Kyle roll up haha then about 300 yards later after he pulled an ifs 4runner up the hill, Shae went to turn around and flopped it  :ha_ha: :ha_ha: :ha_ha: it looks like flat ground but he did back up a ledge  and got pretty flexed wheel hanging and all then tipped over lol

you can see my 4runner in the back hahah and the blue single cab is our buddy Mike's rig who broke a driveline on the same line i broke my fuel pickup haha lots of carnage this weekend

Smile Shae!  :shades:

at Rubicon Springs eating some food during the raffle.

couple shots of us wheeling back to our camp at Buck Saturday night

access panel i cut to pull the fuel pump out of the tank.

and the rest of the pics were us wheeling out Sunday afternoon. We made it from Buck Island to Loon Lake in 3.5 hours thats for sure a new record for me lol

Speaking of fordyce and cursed trips I was trying to make it to fordyce earlier this summer but my rig didn't end up being ready so I went to Lake shasta instead and came home from there with a hangover and a broken foot.

The roundup looks like a good time hopefully Ill be able to make it there in the next couple years and check it out.

If you ever make it to the con come down for MCR. If your gonna just come down a random weekend and wheel go to Fordyce for sure. Less people, more challenging obstacles, and it's probable a touch closer to you lol. I like Fordyce way more than Rubicon

Yeah I need to get down there some time. All my friends that went said it is a super fun place to wheel.

Do you have any pictures of your cage? Ive been wanting to take out my 4xinnovations cage and do my own. Just not to happy with the one I have.

Fordyce is probably my favorite place to wheel. Yeah I have a ton of pictures of my cage I'll post tonight when I get home. Honestly though I pretty much copied the 4xinnovations cage haha not exactly but pretty close. An interior cage takes up enough room as it is and I didn't want to go crazy with tubing inside lol. I want to redo my cage one day too lol I'm not 100% happy with it but oh well everyone else seems to like it. My buddy Kyle finished his interior cage this year and he wants to cut it out and redo it too. I like his a lot more than mine but it seems nobody is happy with their cage is my point haha I do love my corbeau seats though lol

Yeah I know what you mean about not going crazy with tube inside. I dont like the way mine fits around the dash i want the next one to go through the dash. I was close to buying corbeau seats for mine but didn't want to spend the $600 for ones that reclined since I've had to sleep in it a few times. I went with some cheap eBay seats that suck to get in and out of and look kinda stupid but there comfy, recline, and are in there at this point. Ill probably get nice ones eventually but I needed seats bad since i lifted the drivetrain. I think there is a picture of the seats on my thread but can't remember.

the seat rails slide forward and back and the tubing is for my 5 point harnesses

i bought the Rogue Fab notcher halfway through my cage build, should have gotten it before haha its so nice i would highly recommend it to anyone looking to buy a real and a quality notcher

My friend adam parted his truck out a few months ago and i bought the front axle, steering box, transmission, and t-case that has Marlin 4.7s lol i needed a trans for my 84 xtra cab, wanted the front axle for spare parts, and the ifs box to tap for hydo which i did. The front axle is an 85 axle, 5.29s w/ a detroit, 30 spline G2 birfs, 1.5" spacers, and trail gear high steer. Put the trans and 4.7s in my 84 and have a ton of trail spares now. People look at me crazy when i say i have spare 30 spline birfs hahaha i couldn't pass it all up

Great post,it was first Marlin event for the wife and I.We had a great time.

Was surprised at all the breakage happing on the trail. When I saw the transfer case apart on a four runner just above Buck,I crossed fingers we would be ok, the rest of the way.except for small hole in fuel tank, all was good

Everybodys rigs rocked, think I was the lowest one there, the Willies on 80 shorted stock springs, had a blast.look forward to going again.

ChadStich

what radius die do you have for your bender? 4 1/2" or 6"?

I heard then met someone out there that broke a chromo output shaft on the t-case pulled the cases and put a stock one in lol  Yeah there was tons of breakage in my group and we all somehow wheeled out without anyone on a tow strap lol. I think the event was awesome and I'll be going again next year for sure. Do you have a pic of your rig? I might have saw you up there

1.75" x 6.00" radius. Id like to get the 4.5" die one day and the 1.5" die but the 6" one I have works fine. I've never bent a stinger yet or anything that tight so I haven't really needed a smaller radius yet. Lol

so this was the gate keeper at Barrett Lake, we waited at the gate for a little over an hour for our friends and i had my doors open so i killed my batterie then stalled before it charged enough, then my terminals werent getting connection so i had t clean them with a wire brush  :ha_ha: that was my only issue that trip though so that was cool

I managed shatter my back window on the way in Friday night lol

i got high centered in this pic lol only time i got stuck all weekend and i just needed push/rocking and i slid right down lol
