http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-truck-4runner/780051-efi-swap-1st-gen-truck.htmlthis might help. not sure
Im completely stumped on how to get my stock gauges to work still. So much to where im just completely burnt out of working on this truck. Its not gonna be done by saturday like i hoped and i dont want to drive the truck without properly working gauges.
I have my gauge cluster out.. I might be able to get pin numbers for you with the use of a ohm meter and some time.. Is that what your having an issue with?Blaaaahhhhhhhh
I might be able to help, Ive got an 80 with a 91 22re sitting in my yard and all my stock gauges work including the tach. what I dont understand is it seems like the gauges where more or less plug an play?
Did you do a harness swap? I took the complete harness from the donor 87 4runner and put it in my truck
Looks good. I am getting ready to start my re swap in my 81. Looking through your build is giving me some motivation.
OCD i have a gauge cluster out of my truck right now.. If you want to come up to my shop in belmont we could probably figure out my cluster so we can tell him what he needs to hook up the RE harness to the 22r gauge cluster.. If i remember correctly the cluster has what looks like a board and all the connectors route through.. Like an old scool main electrical board.. Too lazy to go look right now but pretty sure we could get it to go right..Blaaaahhhhhhhh
If you truly hit a brick wall on this , I will donate a day to the cause... I'm sure it's something minor, there's really not much to the electrical on these rigs. I have 20+ years in automotive electrical, building manufacturers demo cars for SEMA & CES. Can you trailer it to my shop in Campbell? Where is the rig? Depending how far away you are I might even be willing to come to you...
Can prob swing by next weekend... I have the FSM w/ electrical schematics for both early and late 22re, anyone got the schematic for a first gen 22r? Can prob figure this out at lunch...
nice write up man! looks good.if u have yodaman wire the cluster up, have him take pics for you so that way u can post it up for reference for other future 22r to 22re swappers.
Dude come awn.. Delcity.com and 20 bucks of heat shrink...Blaaaahhhhhhhh
