So my buddy has an 85 2wd(22r) that we are going to be building in my shop. We are going to try and keep this semi budget built. He is still collecting parts right now, but we only need a few more things before we can start.
Plans/parts
What he already has,
Toyota front axle( currently getting rebuilt)
Ifs width rear axle with lock right
g52 transmission with forward shift transfer case
What he needs,
63 chevy rears
3rd gen rears for ruf
top shift case for duals
crossmember
adapter for duals
Both axles have 4.10's so thats what he is running, gonna leave the front open until he has money for longfields. Probably going to run 35's, and the bed is getting bobbed weather he likes it or not :flamer:. I think he plans on building an exo for it :dunno:
Well there is a rough out line, let's here some suggestions and input. Oh and mandatory crappy cell phone pic of the truck,

spc mike

Looks exotic! lol You guys gonna put 4wd front fenders on it?

Dude let me know if you need any help with that thing. What is he gonna end up doing with the front suspension? RUF? and are you gonna buy a sas kit or just build it yourself?
-'85 Toyota pickup, 35's, 4.7 dual cases, locked f/r, longs, etc.

-'04 Jeep Wrangler, 4 1/2" RE Lift, 33's, ARB's, 4:1's.

I'll keep you posted. Ruf, 63 Chevys. No fancy kits, good old fashioned diy.

Rear axle waiting to be put back together after confirming 4.10's with a loc right.

I will put my pile back together next week while you're gone, so be ready to roll it in when you get back. Then we have 2 weeks to work on it before I leave, but like you said you can just build your dualcases while im gone.

zebracrawler

yeah got to go to galt and snag some metal for spring hanger.

They will work fine. Leave the overload in them for now. I am running mine with the overload and they flex great, but I also have a good 350 pounds more axle.

Starting on it soon
I'll believe it when its on it's way over here, with a bed full of parts. I cleared out your spot today and your rear axle is sitting in the middle of the garage waiting.
