Please be aware of this guy and take precautions before you deal with him.

WHAT PISSES ME OF THE MOST IS THAT THIS JERK SAYS IN THIS FORUM THAT I STILL OWE HIM $1000. WHAT A COWARD

Thanks for the heads up! I can sense your frustration. So since you don't have the pink for your truck are you gonna part it out or file a law suit?

Sparkplug

theres 2 sides to every story

ive had deals go bad before, people thinking they were wronged. I feel the only time one should be able to complain is if dealing with deals not done in person, ie; shipping. If you met the dude, looked at his truck, and he didnt have a title right then and there, you should have walked away, I dont know the rest of the story, but you should probably pm a mod before you go trying to bash someones name on a public forum.

Never ever buy a vehicle without a pinkslip, just asking for trouble. Now a lost pink is another story but it must be in the sellers name or you could get stuck with a vehicle you can't register. All you need to do is fill out a lost title form and a bill-of-sale and you can still get it done. Just make sure that the vehicle is in the sellers name and not someone elses.

has this gone to the site moderators yet? i saw the read, and he does have a 4runner that is sas for sale...... looks legit, he also says that it is titled and tagged...... so........ there are 3 sides to every side..... his side, your side, and the truth, and nobody is lying.......

He told me he hadn't gotten the pink from the DMV cause he had barely registered the truck, and I believed him cause the registration was only a couple of weeks old and it was under his name.  He told me that as soon as he got it he will mail it to me. The dude seemed pretty kool and honest,  but a few days later he sent me a text saying that THE DMV HAD CALLED HIM TELLING HIM THEY COULDN'T SEND HIM THE PINK CAUSE HE OWED $200.... Thats when I started to feel that something funky was going on. He told me he had spend the money I payed him for the truck paying his bills, and didn't have $200 to get the pink. So I told him to give me my money back  the $3500 thay I payed him,and I will give him his truck back, so he told me, U MEAN THE $300 u paid for the truck?  So i told him that I didnt' have time for his games, the story goes on and on, I try calling him but he didn't even had the balls to pick up his phone, the whole time he will only text me, harrAsing me to pay him his money. THE ONLY THING THAT HE DOESN'T KNOW IS THAT WITH THE BILL OF SALE HE GAVE ME I WAS ABLE TO REGISTER THE TRUCK. But even months later he will text me sAying that the toyota was his. THATS THE REASON I STARTED THIS POST , DON'T WANT ANY BODY TO GO TROUGH THIS CRAP.   OH AND I SAVED EVERY TEXT MESSAGE HE SENT ME IN CASE SOMEDODY DOESN' t believe or he says is not true.

if you're able to register the truck under you, for got it. just let it be.

The man is letting you know to be careful dealing with this guy so you don't get screwed. He is not just calling this guy(big14u)  out for his own satisfaction. I would sure appreciate seeing this if I was thinking about buying the 4runner. So if it doesn't have to do with you then let it be, the mods on this site are all great people and they will take care of it accordingly if need be.

Wermz84

So you gave him money without a pink slip?
I like to Drive!

bkn

Trust me I was just gonna let it be, but hes making comments that I still owe him money
And he has texed me saying that the pick up I bought from him is still his. Wouldn't that piss you off?

Sparkplug

did by chance you have him fill out the bill of sale saying you paid 300 bucks, to avoid taxes? If he had a registration slip in his name, all is legal and good, he owned it, dmv would not let him get reg in his name otherwise. DMV doesnt call people either, they mail you stuff, thats is kinda sketch. I have bought trucks without titles, 500 dollar parts trucks.

Bottom line, I can come on here and say 50 dif things about tons of deals that didnt go exactly how they should, but in the end, it was my choice, no one forced me. I sell alot of parts, and vehicles, and I know that when someone bad mouths someone, it can hurt their business alot, sometimes it is justified though.

Exactly he did own it thats why I trusted him. And when he told me the dmv had called him thats when i started scratching my head.  Trust me i'm a very kool and understanding person and never ever had any trouble  in this or other forums before I like to have a  good reputation and friendship with anybody I do businness with, but him saying that I still owe him money, and that the truck is still his even tho I got the pink already in my wifes name ( wich I. Think he doesn't know), is just not acceptable or honest.

Twisted

So you currently have the runner...? I wonder why he has it posted in the trade/barter section?  Sounds shady to me, good luck to you.

Dude! That sucks! About 2 years ago I was buying parts off of him and he stole my dog! WTF?
You'll never take me alive

Rocksurfer

Well if don't owe him any money and he has no proof that you do tell him to take a hike and if he thinks that you do to just take you to court. As to him harassing you, either just don't answer him, ignore the call or file a restraining order.

I never answered him, but it really frustrated me getting his stupid text messages, and I did think on filing a restraining order against him, but then he stoped for a while, and now that he is talking smack, I tought I let everyone know before yoy deal with this guy.

U still have that runner cuz he's trying to sell it again

It's a little late to help in this case, but I always do paperwork at my local Auto Club office.  If there's an issue, they can look it up in their database to see what's what.

Oh - print out the copy of the new sales posting/etc that he has up now.  Take that as well to the DMV and explain the story to them.  If you have a bill of sale, I'm sure that they will work with you.

NOTE - If you have a bill of sale, even if it's for $1, and it has both of your signatures and the vehicle's ID or license/etc on it(so it can be identified as that specific vehicle), it's yours now, or will be after a little bit of wrangling.  But that also means that any legal issues or fees are also now yours as well, which can be a bit of a bummer at times.  I have heard of people having to deal with repo companies, banks, and upwards of $1000 in back fees on certain vehicles (let alone getting it to pass smog) before it's all done.  Hopefully there's nothing like that on this vehicle.

bkn

I did get a bill of sale from him, that's what saved me, and I was able to get it registered, but he was still asking me for $ even tho  I already had gotten the pink from the dmv. He was telling me to send him a money order so that the dmv could give him the pink. This is the first time I deal with someome like that and trust me it really sucks.

Man i here ya its hard to be a trusting guy with people like BIG14U in the 4 wheeling community .. Its never a good feeling to get taken for a ride,.. sorry you had to go thru so much BS

I'll never buy anything without a title unless its a parts rig, just for this reason. Just put it under your belt as a good learning experience! I bought an 84 yota from a guy with a blown engine for a good price- Sr5, A/C, 4x4, 4.88's, 4'' lift, smittybuilt bumpers and roll bar, sunroof, tilt, cruise etc. He said the courthouse had the title and he would have it within 2 weeks. Called him a week later to see what the status was and his phone had been disconnected. Really made me wonder if I had bought a stolen rig. But i just parted it out and will have to chop it up to get rid of it...

I will definetly learn from this one, don't trust no one no matter how nice of a person they appear to be. Hopefully this experience helps someone out there.

oh, just read back over the post, I see know you were just warning people about the runner... my bad.  For every scammer out there there are ten people ( like you) who let us know,  thanks for doing your part in getting the word out and im sure any potential buyers of the runner will be grateful.
