questions about beadlocks
« on: Feb 15, 2010, 09:43:19 PM »
well Im new to beadlocks. I got some 15X10 16 bolt self center beadlocks and they keep losing all air every couple days. I have about a 1/2 gap between the inside and outside ring, is this normal or are they supposed to be sandwiched together.   I tightened the bolt snug but I really dont know exactly how tight they are supposed to be.

I've heard 15 foot lbs is what they should be, maybe a lil more with the 16 bolts.
What are they tourqed to now?

And you have to go over them a couple times to get them all down to 15.

did you buy them used? is a wheel bent?

i use my 3/8's dewalt impact to tighten my bolts on my trail readys and they never leak. i go over them every now and again to make sure the rings still tight because its my DD.

take a water bottle, mix with some soap and spray around the ring, inside bead too!

find the bubbles, find your leak. if its the beadlock ring, tighten all the bolts again!  :gap:
bout tree fiddy...
