BB's balance the tires beings 90% of the tires shops out there wont even look at you if you bring in a beadlocked wheel.  Well that and how can you beat the price of about $6 to balance 2 sets of tires and never have to worry about knocking a weight off or having to rebalance them?   ;)

Dunno yet got to try it out and see, if so I'll probably cut the fender tubing off, but just looking at it I think I'll be OK

Did you have to modify the steel wheels to accept that welded on part of the beadlock?  Did you have to cut the lip of the wheel off?  If so, how tough is that.

the weld on ring sits in the lip of the wheel

Nick $240 +$20 to ship from Bend to here so probably not much more to get them up there to you.

$250 has got to be the best price out there for beadlocks.
The tech tips and parts sources gleaned from buildups, is the coolest thing about this forum.
I've heard about the problem with balancing, and I've seen a product written up, I don't remember what it was called, but bb's are the same principle and cheaper.

updated pic, trimmed out rear wheel well before last weeks trip and there was no rubbing at all front or rear. Notice my first dent behind the cab :suprised:  and the switch back to single shackles.

Wow, this looks much better then a procedure that I was going to follow here:
http://www.rockcrawler.com/techreports/diy_beadlocks/index.asp

That guy had to cut the outter bead off of his wheels and then center and weld on the beadlock which included that part of the wheel.

So I was a bit :nerv: about doing that, but man KYOTA, If you are saying that these rings just fit into the inside lip of the wheel, then sheesh, I could pretty much do that right now to my wheels even....

Also, what are you guys talking about bb's? So you are pouring in some bb's inside of the tire and letting them fly all over the place inside the tire?? How many bb's per tire? Like a hand full or something? :headscratch:

BTW, yes, sadly, I am just finding this thread today. No one ever told me about it :moods:

On a 36-37 inch tire, you would need about 10 oz's of BB's.  If you use BB's, make sure they are the steel kind, don't use the copper-coated ones.  The coating flakes off and when mixed with water and moisture, they clog the valve stems.  Steel shot for shotgun shells make good BB's too  :turtle:
