I used steel shot in mine, not sure of the size but theyre bigger than bbs. Mike the hardest part of doing my beadlocks was unmonting and mounting the tires!

Have you had any problem with loosing air over periods of time, other than what might be caused from temperature changes?
And how many cop's have asked if those are real bead locks :gap:

I am thinking about doing the same with my wheels to, any recommendations?   :dunno:

Thanks, but I have just one more.

How about the inner bead, do you lose it often.  I will be wheeling primarily on muddy off camber, trails with ruts, and roots all over bouncing around, under loads of throttle.  Have you ever lost the inner bead, and could you see it as being a problem?

Well, I'm kinda bummed reading some posts about not being able to put weld on beadlocks on a 2.5 inch backspaced wheel.  I haven't tried to mount a tire on the one wheel that I have that is beadlocked but I'm guesing it's a pain.  Also, my wheels are 15x10 so they aren't the best size wheel-wise for some of the tires out there.

Does anybody have any experence mounting tires on a weld-on beadlock 2.5 inch backspaced wheel?

you CAN do it,the thing is a 2.5 BS wheel is actually a reversed center to get the small backspace, which when reversed now puts the safety bead on the outside of the wheel. So putting beadlocks on a reversed wheel is pointless because then you would be having problems loosing inner beads. just use standard BS wheels, lock them, use spacers if need be and dont look back.

I'm runnin into the same dang problem right now man.  I am wanting to do a DIY kit and I also have the 2.5 backspaced wheels and now I have an ad out trying to get someone to trade me 2.5" backspaced black rockcrawlers for 3" or less so I can do my DIY kit.  I was peeest off too as I was just getting ready to order my kit to lock up my wheels.

Cool, thanks for the heads up on why they won't be good to beadlock.  Makes sense now  :beerchug:

KYOTA,  maybe you know but...................what backspacing do they STOP reversing the center???  I want as much BS as possible as my current setup is  2.5" BS wheels with 2" spacers.  I run like a total of .5" of BS on my axles.  That is the setup I LOVE   and really dont want to lose that but understand I would have to with my current wheels.

not real sure where the cut off is before the wheel is reversed, depends on each manufacturer I suppose. Seabass has a thread on pirate aboute the wheels he got from Summit, do a little nosin around over there and I bet you find it.

Weld on the beadlocks and screw the inners with Inchworm screws.
