Im thinking about taking the 5th gear and using the splines part to weld to a coupler and adapt the Tcase that way. Then cut the tailshaft housing down and weld a flange to it for the Tcase. With the extra length of the diesel bell housing that should put me about even with where I am now :crossed:

It is doable I dont have an R151F around to look at but I can see where you are going and it would work I think.

It is doable I dont have an R151F around to look at but I can see where you are going and it would work I think.

After spending 14 hrs working for the "MAN" today, I got home and found me Aussie parts are here. :hyper:

This is what I got for $1500.00

One shiny new bell housing.
Clutch fork, throw out bearing and slave cylinder.
Timming belt and idler pully.
Pressure plate.

The rest of the parts are on order from Japan and will be here soon.

I was thinking the same thing and I'm sure we will find out.

By removing 5th gear I can use the 5th gear spline for the coupler and cut the shaft off short. It will be shorter than the L52 shaft I have now.

I only need to make a custom tailshaft housing and get the shifter to fit in the cramped space left.

With 2 months till we leave for MCR6 we decided to put the house project on hold, and get some headway on the Mammoth rather then leave that till the last minute.
So Mark got all the wood working equipment moved out of the garage and into the living room, and got the new engine moved into the garage...

Oh, but first, in his rush to get things going, after he had just backed my Pathfinder up to make room in the driveway, he started backing up the mammoth thinking 'I think something is back there' a tad too late... :shake: ah well, dents give trucks (and SUV's) character...

Anyhoo.... LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5
