Man sounds like some good luck and some bad. A few years ago Jason, guy who owns the orange 3rd gen, blew a front main as he was on his way to came coming up the last pass on 285 before coming down hill into BV. Cant wait to see pictures, it was a depressing weekend cause this is all I thought about at work and how bad I wanted to be there

Another awesome Colorado 4Runner Jamboree in the books!  Big thanks to everyone that attended, always fun to meet new people to wheel with and catch up with the others that have been wheeling the CO4RJ over the years.

I believe we had 24 rigs start Holy Cross.  We did have some minor breakage, it's always to be expected with a group that big.  I've never seen a group this big run Holy Cross before.  We started @ 10am and were off @ 6.  There was also a group of 4 Jeepers behind us (that waited for us all day and never once gave us a hard time about being a huge group).  We got 20 of those rigs over the creek in 3 hours.  Not bad.

Holy Cross pics

Even a Jeep or 2 ran with us :D

At the exit waiting for the group to go by.

Sami buggy on Rockwells (F&R steer) and 49's  :yikes:

Another big buggy on Rock's and 49's with Brian E's FToy looking like a go-cart

Ledge right before French Creek.  Left side was muddy and not many of us made the left line.

Dcastell in the creek with CGuava on the right line.

Dcastell on the right line

Dean in the only IFS rig to make it over the creek.  He had a killer line over the creek and got stuck at the very end.

Jeremiah getting ready to lift the driver's side front tire on the hard right line.

Cleveland was a muddy mess.  We were 2 for 4 getting rigs to the top.  CGuava & Brian E made it.  The Sami buggy & myself didn't.

BV Carnage lives up to it's name

We start the day @ 10am on Saturday.  There was a couple other rigs waiting at the base of Carnage to jump into a group to run it.  We let them tag along.

We started with 8.  One Jeep bailed after the gatekeeper boulders.  We made killer time, getting to the exit @ 2pm.  We picked up another rig at the dome rock so we were back up to 8.

Russell broke his 2nd CV U-joint for the trip and borrowed my front square shaft to get him out of the exit.  We had the old guy in the newly bought buggy roll after his winch line was cut on his angle iron fairlead trying the far left line (13-15 foot straight vertical ledge).  He ended up with a concussion and a big knot on his head.  He was able to fix the hole in his LS1's plastic intake manifold and get some fluid in the radiator.

YJ on 37's / Sami buggy on 49's / Toyota buggy on 42's / 4Runner on 39.5's

3 wheeling the gatekeeper

Boulder field right before the V-notch

Custom body work on the passenger side.  I took the harder left line around that big rock and it won.

V-notch.  First time in 3 years I haven't gotten out on my own.  Rear passenger tire slipped in the notch and it was over.

Winching out

Brian E and Dcastell

This trail doesn't ever left up once to get to the boulder field before the V-notch.  It's non-stop big boulders.

Justin climbing the right line on Squeeze Rock.

Dcastell showing off the wheelstand

That's a big wheelside on 47" tires

The exit.  Nastier than ever.  We had 4 climb out without a winch.

Halfway up the exit.

Taking the left line was really the only option.

As far as I could make it.

Out comes the winch

I got way more video then I did pictures. I'll post the video when I get it done.

Glad the GJ boys & girls made the trip out!  It was fun wheeling with you & your buddies.

Don't sweat the driveline, you would have done the same for me in a heartbeat.  Thanks for the beer, it was drank Sat. night in the rain :D

Sorry to hear about the carnage.  You buddies green YJ did very well this weekend.  That sucks about Eric's injector line.

I'd like to make the Montrose trip but I doubt it will happen this year for me.  I will make it out your way one of these days for some GJ wheeling!

Thanks for the pics, Zach.
I will post up some of the "My truck wasn't ready, had to drive my Stock 4runner" runs soon.

CALL OUT

When we left the camp on Sunday (We were the last ones out) we saw a burning fire pit! :maddest:
I was told that the people using it were in a blue 1st gen 4runner with no top, no doors, no title!!!!
I'm glad we saw it and were able to put out the fire and the camping chair and machete that were burning in it.

I would have loved to have seen you guys leaving as I would have called you out then and reported you to the forest service.

Please don't bother coming to another Jambo!

Was the fire pit where the main camp area was? I dumped about 6 gallons of water on that (thanks, Aaron!) and stirred it up a bunch but it was still kind of warm... it had been going since Thursday night so the ground was pretty hot. It was steaming a little when we left; it didn't seem to be hot enough to start another fire though. I felt bad for not bringing a shovel or extra bucket of water for that purpose, which I usually do when I go camping.

If it was that 1st gen Runner (which is black) I know who it is; he's on a few other boards for the Front Range area. I'll send a few  :slap: his way next time I see him.

That was Brad (foxtrot on FrontRange4x4) and his buddies in the black 4Runner.  They were dumping gas on the fire that morning when I was packing up my stuff.  I figured they would have put it out before they left.  I'm sorry, I didn't notice it before I rolled out or I would have put it out myself.

It was the pit at the east end of the main camp area.
It just pisses me off when people can't even throw dirt on it or anything.

Sorry about the fire guys, I thought it was out when we left and I even drove back by to make sure. it must have not been completly out, my bad.  as for the moron dumping gas on it, well lets just say he is no longer a buddy because of his actions that weekend. he actually caught one of my nice chairs on fire, and did all kinds of other dumb stuff. I apologize for any mis-behavior from me or anyone with me  :smack:
